Fire Emblem Heroes - Easy Allies Review

Nintendo's latest mobile offering, Fire Emblem Heroes, is a watered down gacha game that pales in comparison to the rest of the series.

It's funny I finally figured out the audience mobile games are created for in general thanks to Damiani's explanation of the game mechanics. That being impulsive/tired people with disposable income and rewards you for this behavior. While if your disciplined and play a little each day the game would get more boring as time went on due to the increased stamina requirements literally draining the fun from the game as you progress. (lol didn't know he pretty much said the same thing in the video when I posted this only 3 minutes in. Makes me feel like a plagiarist)

that is the think i like

I might've kept playing it if it didn't require an internet connection to play.

I deleted it after a couple of days, if the battles are so boring and shallow why should i care about collecting heroes to use in other shallow and boring battles? I'll just go back to Fates, i still need to play the third path...

I see where you're coming from, but free to play games can be found on consoles too. There, they will have to compete with full price games as well. Also I can totally imagine a free to play Fire Emblem that has the same level of quality and depth the full price ones have. Would it make Nintendo less money? Probably, but that shouldn't factor into reviews in my opinion. Can't speak about your other points about features the game has and the review doesn't mention. Also I don't mean to call you out, just wanted to say that I do like reviews of mobiles games with classic standards in mind. So I hope no offence is taken. L&R

The first time I saw how many feathers it would take to get a 4 star to a 5 star... then looked at how many I get daily... I knew me and this game were going to have issues...

Gacha games are bad, mmmkay. (I still play em though, can't help myself)

I don't consider it fair for a mobile game to be rated on the same scale of a retail game. Its not very fair to compare it to something with a higher budget and a different design aspect to keep the player playing the game. FE:Heroes is designed to keep you playing while incentivizing you to drop some cash. For a mainline Fire Emblem, the game doesn't have to prove its worth, you already payed for it so of course the experience is more enjoyable. When you download a free mobile game, you are already expecting a watered down experience because its free. But if you got 5 minutes to kill and want some FE action then this app does that well. Maybe if you want to review more games like this in the future, you should review it amongst its contemporaries (like Brave Frontier, Galaxy of Heroes or Brave Exvius) for a more fair review. But to compare to other Fire Emblem and rating them on that scale is in my opinion, a cheap slam piece. Anyways L&R.
