To get a little specific, the things that Therese does such as silent image and disguise self are not cantrips, they're full spells. She can cast them at will because Ian chose those specific Eldritch Invocations that allow it. To compare, that's giving up on things like having Eldritch Blast do extra damage by adding your charisma modifier, casting detect magic at will without using a spell slot, and many others. Ian just tries to use these abilities to their fullest potential and because there's not a lot of combat going on in this campaign, I think it's all very good choices.

Honestly, with all the stuff the group gets away with, I have no problems with actual trouble here. Especially Thereses cantrips always seemed way too powerful for a 0 level spell that almost any peasant can learn. As far as I know disguise self does not change the voice for example, so I really don't know how you would pull of a male orc as a female elf in voice, without some bonkers bluffing or whatever roll. Also ghostly sound cannot be cast without people noticing you are casting magic (except when you have a bunch of talents for that specific purpose), so that wouldn't work either. Basically it's about time those low level magic spells don't make a fool out of high ranking experts in a very rich and competitive environment. I still hope she doesn't die this time though, since the pasts didn't really make it clear that magic does not solve every problem without anyone noticing, so this is a sudden swing.

Agreed but I think the transformation in the middle of the crowd was a problem. That plan was not as well thought out as we usually get from her.
