What Remains of Edith Finch - Review

To be honest, going into this game, I didn't know anything other than the fact that it was made by some of the same people who worked on The Unfinished Swan, and so I was thoroughly prepared to get lost in its mysteries. If you'd be similarly willing to take the plunge, I recommend you go ahead and do so before watching the review. As it's entirely narrative-driven, there's no choice but to give some tidbits away. That said, Brandon and I did what we could to avoid spoilers so there are plenty of surprises left if you do watch first.

What Remains of Edith Finch - Review

Comments

I had confused this game with another walking sim that came out years ago. I though the PS4 was just getting a port of that. This looks a lot better than that game I played. lol

Much as I love them I've disagreed with EZA reviews in the past, never so strongly though. Respect where Blood is coming from and glad someone enjoyed this but I found it a miserable jaunt, poor in all ways possible. It's not my intention to start an argument here or anywhere else, but felt compelled to register a counter note to the generally glowing summations of the game. For the record my disappointment does not stem from any accusations of walking simulator, not a game etc etc. Quite the opposite; I'm drawn to the unusual and the untrodden, and found this utterly lacking in vision and expression. That said, appreciate the succinct review, especially in terms of trying to avoid giving away too much - by no means an easy task.

This looks like such an interesting game, I definitely want to experience it.

Great game. It took me less than 2 hours to complete so its a nice break from the massive games. Story leaves an impression as well.

Yeah baby, the microphone audio sounds great. That new mixer makes quite a difference. You're back in business Jones.

Might snuck this and little nightmares between persona 5 and the next big game

Very well written and edited yet again. Well done Blood and Jones.

A great short meal of a game in between behemoths all around us like p5, botw, nier Automata, etc that are 10s and 100s of hours to complete
