Wait whaaat, I'm confused about the conclusion you guys came to about Mario Kart multiplayer. If you want to LAN with your own TV, yes, you need a router connected to the internet. But if you just want to play on your own Switch screens, you can totally play local wireless for up to 8 Switches.

Adding to the spoiler discussion...sometimes 'spoilers' can increase the hype. The trailer for John Wick 2 had an awesome scene with several headshots in it. When I was in cinema and I felt that scene coming up, I was incredibly hyped! So I think it really depends on the kind of spoiler. It's the same for the Captain America/Winter Soldier against Iron Man scene. On the other hand, other spoilers, like showing the villain and revealing too much of the story, can ruin it for me. L&R

I can understand the idea of knowing how a game ends might allow you to focus on other parts of a game and enjoy bits you couldn't have otherwise. Here's a crazy concept, play through the game a second time. The second play through of a game or watch of a show can be a completely different experience sure, but you can NEVER get back that first experience when you didn't know anything so why spoil that once in a life time opportunity? I can appreciate this stand point, but I can't agree. I suppose those that prefer that can just go in knowing, but anyone on the fence should just go through the medium twice.

On Huber's idea for Red Dead online - I think there's a huge population of people that play ARMA III this way (cops v. robbers). I'm sure there are people on here that know more about it, but it looked so fun! I think it could totally work BUT what happens to towns when the outlaws win?

About the possible positives of spoilers, I mostly disagree with it. The only case that I might like knowing spoilers is when there's some kind of content that I'm very sensitive towards and feel some strong negative reaction when exposed to it (imagine the spoiler being like some kind of "trigger warning" that helps me to be mentally prepared when I eventually see the event unfolding). But ultimately, what happens is that you can easily replicate the spoiler "positives" by just rewatching/replaying/re-whatever the thing (that's your "replay value"), but you can never recreate a unspoiled experience: it only happens once. And one of the most fun things is to put together the pieces of a story on your own.

I really loved the original Prey, so I tried the new Prey Demo. I really wanted to like it, but honestly it really put me off the game. I'm open to hear other opinions on the full game, but I really did not enjoy the gameplay on display in the Demo. It was just nowhere near what I wanted this game to be.

Guys, MK8:D does have local network play. 4 consoles up to 8 player with 2 on each console over WiFi. Splatoon 2 is going to work the same way, it's not ethernet only. EDIT: Ah, the YT description clears that up. Neato!

I can't remember the last time I dropped a game as quickly and decidedly as Outlast 2. The writing is embarrassing right out of the gate ("there's two factions - christians and...something else" What?) and it tries to tackle some difficult subjects (religion, zealotry, pregnancy) with the subtlety of a jack hammer. Plus, the most effective way to make it through a level is to just book it to the next story beat and ignore enemies. People should do themselves a favor and play Resident Evil 7 again. Outlast 2 is not a good game by any standard. I absolutely hated what I played of it.
