Group Stream Night Vote

As I said earlier this year, I'd like to do more weird live events for Group Stream Night in 2017. The Hall of Greats was born from this initiative, and I think that was pretty cool. (Hall of Greats #2 next month!) I now present to you, two new weird stream ideas and one normal fun game:
- Mario Maker Challenge: The Easy Allies split into two random teams. Don, Mario Maker master, gives each team a common theme they must implement into a Super Mario Maker level. While Team A builds their level for 30 minutes, Team B is forced outside. Don supervises but may not make creative suggestions. Then, Team B builds while Team A is outside. Finally, everyone gathers, we play each other's levels, and Don determines a design challenge winner. He then also gives some sweet tips.
- Best of the Worst: We play three of the worst-reviewed games of the year--in this case Troll and I , Vroom in the Night Sky , and Double Dragon IV --for 25 minutes each. Then, once we've given each a fair shot, the group must come to a true unanimous agreement, criminal jury style, over which game is the best of the worst.
- Use Your Words : a frequently-recommended game that's a lot like Jackbox Party Pack jokey minigames where live viewers can vote on the best punchlines (memes).
*And just a reminder that Ben and Brad will face off in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for real this week!

2017-04-24 12:09:57 +0000 UTCPotential Problem with Mario Maker set up. Team B will have 30 minutes outside to brainstorm while Team A will be thrust into production right away. There are a couple solutions for this that I think could work, my favourite saved for last. 1) Give Team A 5-10 extra minutes of design time to counter the 30 minutes of brainstorming Team B will have. 2) Since Mario Maker Challenge is the clear winner, decide the teams and theme ahead of Tuesday so each team has a day to brainstorm, Team B will still have that extra 30 minutes, but it's more fair. 3) Hold the Ben/Brad duel first, having the teams and theme already decided, and while the duel is going on have Team A brainstorm. 4) My personal favourite solution: Ben and Brad are team captains and they decide the teams one Ally at a time. The winner of the duel gets to decide between 'first pick' or 'design second'. 'First pick' gets the edge of creative team members, while 'design second' gets that bonus 30 minutes of brainstorming.
