Cup of Jones - 08/29/16

It’s been a good long while since I produced an episode of Cup of Jones, so here’s one before the month of August wraps up! Our Deus Ex Retrospective, among other projects and conflicts, got in the way of making more - but you patrons remain as patient and supportive as ever. Here I give a brief update on EZA current events you might have missed, answer 45 minutes of questions, then talk a bit about the process of making retrospectives, and how it’s changed from the old GT days. Here’s to delivering the next episode ASAP! L&R!- Brandon

Cup of Jones - 08/29/16

Comments

That FF IX fact sits in the back of my mind every time I complain about FF XV. Well played, Joetown. ;)

Easy Allies

Interesting. I tried this and Game Capture never recognized a video/audio signal. Any time I went through one device and then into the Elgato, I got nothing. Maybe I got the wrong switches.

Easy Allies

Wow, hardcore. Don't read it AT ALL?!?!

Easy Allies

Tweet at me with your friend code. Then accept a request from "Jone Brando" when it comes along. If there's room in the guild we'll bring you in!

Easy Allies

Point taken!

Easy Allies

What are thoughts about the character Robin, as in batman and. I happen to really like him. Especially dick grayson, one of the few heroes with real progression and change. Also seein him as batman. Black mirror and batman and robin one of my favorite comics. What do you think??

Tim Bechen

Hi Brandon I saw you on Kinda Funny this week in there new studio did you learn anything that will help EZA get out of your garage (we don't need a video wall but it is very cool)

Could you please please please upload the presents segments of group streams as a separate video to the Easy Allies YouTube channel?

Here's a comment that is as late as your videos (I kid): I watched last week and when you said Easy Allies hiking in LA county I got super excited. I just moved to the area a little over a month ago and would love to do some hikes in the area. I just hope it is set up through some media besides Twitter, I don't check Twitter often.

Hi there Brandon I've been a fan of you and your group for many years and I never really felt the need to comment though I have on occasion in the GT days and even downloaded the GT app! I love how you guys replied to comments and you even replied to mines though I'm sure since you've replied to many i understand you wouldn't remember when you did reply to mines. It was during one of the episodes about trailers and you said you wanted to name a term about something that happens in trailers and I suggested calling it a BJ for Brandon Jones but you replied with a term for it but I'd forgotten since its been a few years. Anyways I wanted to finally comment and say thank you so much for starting it all from GT to Easy Allies and I mean EVERYTHING because I enjoy all the content you all provide. Once I had the means to donate to you guys on here I immediately did on the $25 tier and I wish I could donate more (maybe overtime I will donate more for sure!). I look forward to hearing my name on the next Podcast during halftime! In case you need help pronouncing it here's some help. its Simply as in Simply (duh haha) and then Ecks as in the letter X.. So SimplyEcks. Also PLUR to you all over at EA. I know you guys say Love and Respect but I love PLUR because its Peace Love Unity & Respect. Hope to enjoy future content you guys provide! PS I spaced out the sentences to make it easier to read so it won't be one big brick of text hope that helps.

I don't get why finding a hair in your food is seen as so disgusting by most. What are your thoughts?

On the topic of beard growing... Maybe you should see if you can get all the allies to not shave during November! <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movember" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movember</a>

Matt Brookbank

I remember that too, it was great, you're right. Maybe if one of the regulars has to go on vacation, Ben can make a short side quest story with other allies like Brandon and Don.

Matt Brookbank

Another vote here to keep CoJ a show, not a stream.

Matt Brookbank

Regarding the potential decision to have CoJ turn into a once-per-week stream or keep it as a show - PLEASE keep it as a show. It's clearly something that you produce when you have time/motivation to do so. I thoroughly enjoy when I look at what the Allies have been doing each week and get a surprise in the form of Cup of Jones! I don't think a stream is necessary.

John Leitner

Brandon, one of my favorite episodes of Tabletop Adventures, back at GT, was the one that Ben ran with yourself, Brad, and Don (especially Don!), so if you guys ever do get the chance to do some one-offs like that again, we'd all love to see it. -Minamik-

Minamik

I like cup of jones to be a show not as a stream :)

Tim Bechen

How do you feel about Metacritic?

I'm sure you intended to say attention... Hahaha... I'll see myself out.

Mango

Gotta love a community where you can post your personal info without fear of trolling. Good on ya m8

Mango

Brandon any plans for easy allies to start writing article pieces in addition to the video content you produce? I know Ben is crazy busy but would Iove to see him shine in his true element. L&amp;R Mango

Mango

Jones! I chose to become a patron specifically for this sweet delicious show and love the high degree of showmanship. If maintaining that means having it only bi-monthly then so be it! Perhaps some day we could have a Bowl of Bosman in place of those two lost shows?

I think you mean something like this? <a href="http://forums.easyallies.com/topic/476/special-partner-offers" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://forums.easyallies.com/topic/476/special-partner-offers</a>

César Villa

Hey Jones! Have you ever thought about doing sponsorships in the style of Kinda Funny and other YouTube channels where you have links and brand deals where we, the Allies, go to websites you send us to?

Brandon, please, dude, pleeeeeaaaase, don't watch Ghibli (or anything from Japan) in Dub, maaaaaan....

Randy Verschueren

What do you think about incorporating one Sophie trick into each the Tuesday group stream? Something about that dog is so entertaining, you could have a star on your hands. And you can tell she's dying for some of that limelight.

Gan Khef

What are some of your favorite comics?

Kian Jahromi

I haven't been to Disneyland/California Adventure since 2008. Do you think if you made an Allies event at Disneyland people would be interested? I think it would be cool to meet members of the Allies crew while being at the coolest amusement park around.

Howls Moving Castle is my favorite one as well!! Love the music and story is so good.

Hey Brandon, I recently started a new job marketing personal and business benefits that I think could help you and EZA. If I'm successful in the job and if you like the service, I'm thinking of being a $500 sponsor for a month. It would only take about 15 minutes to explain. You can email me at dustin.mcnab@gmail.com or text/call me at 907-205-8813 to set up a time.

Dustin McNab

Streaming might not take much time in term of production (if 2 people play for 2h) that is still 4 man hour that could have been used to actually work on creating content... I personally would not mind cutting down streaming by a lot to produces more shows... Kyle still does not have a personal short weekly/biweekly show on EZA and he made a video stating he has other engagements and would not be doing his occasional "at home" until next year... Yet i dont know how many streaming hours he is offering, removing a few of those would enable to produce a 10m every 2 week easily... I dont know if I am in the minority here but my wife and I do not have enough hours in our life to watch people livestream all the time... we prefer short 5-10m video that are weekly or bi weekly with content we love... if removing a 2h stream for 2 or 3 person enables a 5 or 10m show every week or two that would totally be worth it! just my opinion :) love and respect as always!

Hugo D Hawk X

Hey Jones! Glad to have my wheneverly cup back! Would any of the Allies be interested in doing more in-depth spoiler reviews of games that have been out for a year or more? I know you all do the occasional spoilercast for games the crew are super hyped on, but I think this would be a different enough concept to be worth doing. These would be in the exact same style you all do your current reviews in, just a bit longer and more detailed, not afraid to talk about any part or mechanic of a game to break it down and get into what really works and what doesn't. I think this would be beneficial not just to us fans as consumers of video games, but of any potential devs or current devs who watch EZA. P.S. My vote is for the show to remain a show and not a stream.

lol shit I completely forgot about these! An hour long one now though? You've earned by dollar Jones! As if the other amazing content over the years wasn't worth a dollar already LMAO I will pay more as soon as I'm not thousands of dollars in debt I promise!

Star Fox Adventures! So I had an itch to seek out this game due its reputation as a "hidden/underrated gem" and its semblance of Zelda. I still haven't finished it. It just feels like a goofy game to me. The voice acting and dialogue is cheesy like something out of a Saturday morning cartoon....not in a good way. The soundtrack is annoyingly catchy. The fighting looks like 3D Zelda but it's been dumbed down even further. I really wanted to like it but, dammit.....I just can't.

Keep this a show! :)

Favorite Wii game?

Matt Currin

Brandon, thanks for answering my question on cup of jones! I can understand your desire to really maintain full control on your brand right now. I might just suggest y'all look at how companies like Bethesda in the very industry you comment on have built fanbases and come out on top in niche markets by embracing fan-generated content. But hey, your answer doesn't detract of what I think of what y'all are doing. Keep up the good work. :)

Kiraz

AKG P220!

Kiraz

They absolutely need to do more in the vein of Brandon Plays Pokemon. Sometimes what you don't plan to be a hit is a hit, and Easy Allies would be stronger if they capitalized on this surprise. Honestly, it's my favorite thing they've created and I was expecting that by a long shot.

Kiraz

Also, is Amanda or yourself excited for Star Trek: Bridge Crew? Star Trek in VR, live your dreams!

Saugerdees

PLEEEEEEEEEEASE DO SHENMUE.

Saugerdees

What did you think of The Cursed Child?

DancingElk

since you love mobile games and i know you spent ZERO DOLLARS on it, have you ever being TEMPTED to ALMOST BUY into GEMS due to limited time events/characters, etc? if so, how often have you being persuaded by it?

Otoshigami

Correction: Antisocial means being a sociopath... Common mistake. I think you were looking for the word asocial.

most likely NEXT YEAR as they need MORE PATRONS to support EZA. :)

Otoshigami

shenmue 1 and 2 is VERY EZ to make for a retrospective so it's not far off from here when shenmue 3 finally comes out. :)

Otoshigami

Hey Brandon thanks for answering my question. If I were to ask another it would be this, what trope or cliche gets you excited or hyped every time no matter how overused or played out it is? P.S. I think the current format of Cup of Jones is great it does a good job of feeling personal.

Hey there! I have an idea about Retrospectives. I think the Retros are amazing pieces of content and stand as anthologies about some of gaming's most legendary franchises. However, Retros are hamstrung by one obvious flaw - they are often released at around the same time as a new installment in the franchise (such as with Mankind Divided) which means you don't go into much depth at all when talking about the newest game in the series (possibly for fear of avoiding spoilers). I personally would prefer it if you guys made and released the Retros a good few months after the release, and cover the latest game in as much detail as you do the rest. That, for me, would make the whole series the best video overview of these beloved franchises today, and would truly stand the test of time for generations to come who never got to play these games.

any allies know what mic EZA use in their videos?

D-Up Gaming

Have you ever done voice over for other media outlets besides gaming?

Braulio Valdez

So I understand you saying Brandon plays Pokemon was lightning in a bottle but I don't think that's a reason to disregard the format altogether. Most of the podcasts focus on news and I wish you did have spoiler casts or more in depth game discussions with 2-4 allies for something like uncharted 4. Frame trap is the closest thing we have and is the reason I love it. Not necessarily 10 episodes for every game but I think that would be a concept I would pay more to fund. Something like the depths I think it was called. Someone mentioned a persona retrospective and I honestly think that would be great. Sounds intense but I would watch that one.

Bdun912

As a big music listener I'm always curious to others tastes. So, what music are you listening to? Also, do you have a favorite band/artist and who is it?

Where do you keep your Pokemon Trading Card Game base set collection?

Let's say you take the Allies with you on a jovial trip to Disneyland. You, Jones, are assigned to planning the itinerary. The group will follow everything you plan out. What attractions do you start off with first, where do you have lunch, which shows attractions must you attend? At what point would you lose Huber?

Rick Argomaniz

Wait!!! You can't just say you broke the Cup and not explain how you broke it !?!?

Wonderful Cup of Jones, Brandon. Nice to hear you answer the fan questions and all the cool upcoming stuff for Easy Allies. The Deus Ex Retrospective was amazing! If I want to see another short retrospective, maybe Sly Cooper in honor of the upcoming movie. For a long one, I would love to see Professor Layton in honor of the upcoming game Lady Layton.

Old School Lane

I've also always wanted to shave my head to see what it's like and I finally did it last year on a whim. Of course it looked weird at first but I think all drastic new hair styles do. Once people got used to it I got some nice compliments. Go for it Brandon! Shave your head AND grow a beard :)

Keep it as a show Brandon. I think it might be too much like Talking Syndrome if you stream it. Also, if you need a digital intern I'm here. Seriously.

What is your favourite thing about each of the allies? Also, while I have your attention, I want to say that I think you're all awesome. Keep on keeping on. Love and Respect

Dafydd Gape

This. You like tired, please get rest. And I agree that Jungle Book is awesome

Sven Van Lathem

You've mentioned a few times that you're an Eagle Scout; I also did scouting growing up so I'm curious to know what you did for your Eagle project? Also, would love to know where your interest in scouting originated? (ie, did anyone else in your family do it, read about it in a book, etc?) Thanks!

At 47 minutes you answered my response. I was a bit sad to not have your show appear for so long. I did really miss your show...but I love your organized show as is. I can wait 2-3 weeks for your show to return when time permits. I will be your patreon forevermore (or till EZA dies off or becomes another thing with you in it), even if it's a small amount that I give every month. One thing I do suggest is : Some companies do shoutouts or share links to fellow streamers that talk about the content that was talked about or highlighted about. Guild Wars shares occasionally pre-streams or post-streams with youtube or twitch streamers that talk about Guild Wars. Just a random thought ^^ Or on the flip side, your shows (other than cup of Jones) could appear as a pre-show or post-show of a more known channel or group of sorts.

chocolate_prophet

Don't dare say 30s = irrelevance for a games media group! Remember this quote from the Gaming Advocacy group: "The average age of someone who plays games is 31 years old. In fact, more gamers are over the age of 36 than between the ages of 18 to 35 or under the age of 18."

James McCoy

Yay! Thanks for answering my question! By the way, if you shave your head....you may never go back. If you're anything like me you'll love how liberating it feels to not have to worry about your hair, it's nice feeling that clean. And it makes summer easier to deal with since your primary source of cooling off isn't absorbed by your hair. But uh....yeah, it's also a good way to hide your age. My beard isn't as grey as my head is, and you can't see it...if you shave it off! =)

ZyloWolfBane

Is there any chance that you guys start streaming on Youtube instead (or besides) of Twitch? I really don't like the Twitch media player and since your regular shows are on Youtube, I would prefer to have everything happen all in one place.

RedVIII

omg Jones, you look dead tired. Get some sleep man. Also, you need to see the live action Jungle Book. You will love it. Believe me.

RedVIII

I need to say something about Final Fantasy 15. I think I used to feel the same way you do, Jones. It really felt cheap to me that they changes Vs-13 into 15. It felt like they dug themselves a hole too deep with the game and figured the only way they could make the money back was to call it 15. I wanted nothing more than a Final Fantasy planned from the ground up as 15, a true and honest addition to the series. But, Brandon Jones, YOU made me feel different about it. Back when a lot of detailed started to come out about 15 I got nostalgic and rewatched the Final Fantasy Retrospective. When speaking about Final Fantasy 9 you say in the video that the game was originally planned as a side project "as to not conflict with the newer futuristic direction the series was heading for." I realized then, that if Final Fantasy 9 could start as a side project, and earn a roman numeral, and become very possibly the best game in the entire series, there was still hope for 15. I'm definitely very skeptical for 15 after everything we've seen, but I'm hoping, and hoping A LOT, that it turns out well. L&amp;R.

Joetown

I like keeping CoJ a show, but if you want to step in with a Talking Syndrome style stream once in awhile I know people will enjoy it. Whatever you can make work. If audio only, or written blog, or off the cuff stream, or any other possible format would make it easier to do smaller Sips in between the full Cups, I say go for it.

Bradley Spies

Hey Mr. Jones. First, I just wanted to say thank you for taking my question! Second, my question for the next episode is: During the "Settle It" stream between Misters Damiani and Bosman, a comment was made that GT was in the midst of a greatest games of all time debate when you were shut down. Does yourself, or any of the Allies wish to continue the project with a fresh start? I would love to see the group's collective list, but in no way am I asking for a return of Countdown. Just a one-off project all of you could work on in your spare time when not doing shows/streams. Finally, just want to reiterate that with the workload yourself and everyone else has, don't sweat not being able to get Cup of Jones out on a regular basis. I like to think of this show as a nice surprise Patrons get every now and then. Thanks again and stay Easy fellow Ally.

Brandon K Gann

An unexpected treat this morning; thanks for getting this one out there Jones!

Cup of Jones is a wonderful, clean, well produced show. I feel like we're having a personal conversation, and I think that feeling will disappear if it's just a recorded stream. Keep it as a show! Love and Respect.

Jones needs to (1) shave his head, (2) grow a beard, (3) get Huber's axe and (4) scream "VALHALLA!" on the next Cup of Jones.

These meetups are very bias to the LA area. Would love if you guys could come to the DC/METRO area.

Mikehook1

These episodes are ALWAYS worth the wait! My two cents: Please keep "Cup of Jones" as a show and not a stream. There's a much different vibe than "Toybox Tuesday" and "Red Dead Redemption". Even "Talking Syndrome" has a different vibe from Huber's other show. So I love how "Cup of Jones" is already. I don't need it to be weekly. I rather you go have fun in Arizona (or whatever) instead. Keep happy, keep healthy, and I'll be happy whenever a new "Cup of Jones" gets posted. Also, I LOVED the one episode of Tabletop Adventures you were on. I'd love to see you show up on Tabletop Escapades, but we'll see if that'll ever work itself out.

Robert I.

Two Questions; 1) As an editor, are you able to enjoy watching something and not critique the editing work done on it? Do you have any examples of when you couldn't watch something because it was so bad? Also, and most importantly, 2) Is Batman crazy?

I think this would be the Best time to do a Persona Retrospective, it's a bit of a long one but with 5 coming out in February I think the timing is perfect! And you know Ben would work tirelessly on that!

Only one thing I could think about watching this episode: Praise the Sun!! \o/

Henk Groenendijk

How about keeping the limit of 6 sponsors but have different sponsor tiers which could possibly earn you more with the same amount of sponsors?

Benny Samuelsson

During the hiking question it seemed like you were channeling a little bit of your inner Huber. Do you find that working so closely and so frequently with the Allies has led to you gaining any of their personality quirks?

Also, Amanda's Cup of Jones style show could be: A Scoop of Troop, and instead of coffee, she has a scoop of ice cream (or maybe a bowl of something that she scoops in there). (Alternatively, it could be "The Troop Scoop", just to hear Amanda with a 1930's accent go "Extree! Extree! Read all about it!!"

First, Love &amp; Respect. I like how CoJ is right now, but I'd be happy to see more Brandon shows/streams. What about having different style shows/streams, identifying them with a coffee-themed name? For example: the 30-60min morning stream could be Coj: Fresh Brew (I'd say 'Morning Jones' but Joe Scarborough's lawyers may take interest), a weekly editorial/recap/whatever could be CoJ: Espresso, and then the monthly (or however long it takes) Full editorial/really getting into questions show could be CoJ: Steeped/Cold-Brew/Slow-Drip. I love Brando Plays Pokémon, and I'm not a huge Pokémon fan. When you said you were thinking of similar shows, my mind immediately jumped to "Brandon Plays: The Violin", or "Brandon Plays: Badminton." These would be very different, but the spirit of Brandon playing/learning something new is one of the pillars of the "Brandon Plays" series. To keep the same format as BP:P, I think if you reached out to the Allies you'd find lots of cases of 1 Ally loving a game/series, and another having never played it. Kyle especially has serious gaps in his gaming history (plus his "eccentric" take, and weird quibbles about games could be a great source of entertainment/dismay for the expert sitting opposite him). Retros suggestions: Half-Life (few games, insane history), The Witcher (only 3 games, albeit long ones, amazing developers, cool books. Bloodworth could probably write half the script right now!), Max Payne/Remedy Games (3-5 games, short games, opportunity to talk to Sam Lake!!!!), Shenmue (because Brandon said it), Street Figher/Killer Instinct series, Mass Effect (to tie into Andromeda release in 2077)

Thank you Jones for finally addressing my request about the beard. I do hope you get to go bald and have a Paul Bunyan beard at the same time for an epic look of the ages! No-shave-vember perhaps? :) As for the weekly ordeal, I think I'd appreciate the shows the way they are done now as opposed to a weekly live stream. Especially considering that we can't see the live comments section in an archived video, so it would feel awkward, weird and less personal, in my opinion. You also already look really tired in this video; I'd rather you didn't lose anymore sleep for us Patrons.

There's an opportunity in how you've played so few of the year's potential GOTYs. Have you considered hosting a GOTY Award show or stream where you could act as the host, presenting each new award but also having a discussion with the Allies that voted for and against the winner? You can turn your disadvantage into an advantage by being able to ask the type of questions that only someone who hadn't played the game could. Could make for a different type of award show compared to before, but hey -- Easy Allies is its own thing! And I'm all about keeping Cup of Jones a show. I like this format. And if it only had to be once a month, if it was always an hour, I'd love it. I prefer these nice and meaty episodes. A Team ICO retrospective would be wonderful. A BioShock retrospective would be a nice and short one, though it'll follow the Collection's release. Not short, but guys...you gotta do a Yakuza retrospective someday. I'm sure you could find some great behind-the-scenes information on those games.

I just saw the answer about missing questions and I saw that you replied to my comment on the Patreon last cup. I'll have to make sure that it wasn't actually answered and get back to this. Cheers.

Brandon is digging the saga of Joseph Joestar. Always knew he was a king among men. I'd like to say that I really enjoy having Cup of Jones being an actual show more than the stream idea. Maybe the stream can be a fallback if it's been a couple weeks since a fully fledged episode? But I like Cup of Jones and how it can become whatever it is you want it to be at a given time. The garage tour or the voiceover episode were great to see, for example. It's whatever is easiest for you, though. I enjoy the show and the editorials are always a lot of fun.

You mentioned that it's a hassle to change between consoles for streams/game capture. I have a setup to fix just that. I basically have a chain of converters and switches so that I never have to change anything behind the TV. Scart/RGB switch -&gt; Scart/RBG to hdmi converter -&gt; hdmi switch -&gt; hdmi splitter (gets rid of HDCP that prevents some game capture cards to capture PS3 footage) -&gt; El Gato HD60 -&gt; TV. It's a bit of money but boy does it feel good and it works smoothly. Can't say I encounter a delay while having this setup either.

I'am a big fan of Daniel Kayser's . Got any dirt on him? ;)

Is it just me or does Huber do a heck of a lot considering he isn't 100% full-time? I count two of his own shows (Huber Syndrome &amp; Talking Syndrome) every week, he appears in every episode of Frame Trap &amp; Tabletop Escapades and seems to do lots of reviews and streaming as well as appearing on the Podcast as much as anybody else. I think I'm even forgetting something else he's involved in...

Simon Wallace

Great episode Brandon! I have a question...what would be your timeline to get a studio, if say by the end of the year or even next summer the Patreon specifically didn't hit that goal? I know it's not your only revenue stream and I am sure you could make money in other ways, but I'm just curious as to when you would say "it's time!" regardless of Patreon dollars. Thanks so much for all you guys do!

Colin Cooper

You should do a street fighter retrospective. It could be as short as the mortal kombat one

Henry Ramirez

Can you make some promotional images and/or videos that we can share through social media to tell our friends about Easy Allies?

Alexander Zyryanov

As a proud EZA patreon and fan of "a cup of Jones" I would be very happy if we could have this show at least 2 times a month. You could have 1 at the beginning of the month where you could highlight what your goals are for that month and 1 at the end to reflect on the month and the goals that you have set. I would prefer you not change it to a stream. I like the show how it is .

FreeDoM

What about reading (or dubbing?) classic cut scenes from video games?

James McCoy

That cup is JOLLY.

James McCoy

From up on poppy hill is the Ghibli movie you're talking about love that one too

Gotham should have been like the comic series Gotham Central.

In regards to CoJ being a weekly stream: I like the way the show is set-up right now, with the cup, the music, a little bit of lighting. Huber does his weekly webcam Q&amp;A, we have the monthly webcam Q&amp;Q, I'd prefer CoJ do stay a little more polished. So if it's either/or between CoJ in irregular intervalls and a weekly webcam stream I'd rather have it the way it is now.

Deniz Schreiber

Here's a new show idea : Amanda and Brandon Stage Reading A bi-weekly show - One scene read every show. We could start with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child :)

Gabriel Meunier

Hey Brandon. What is the long time plan to get your name out there? I mean are you just taking things as they come or is there some sort of awesome secret business plan. I just really want to see EZA grow so can you give me any reassurance that this is just the beginning?

Mikkel Bak Sørensen

I'm gonna have to hard disagree with reading Cursed Child if you're a Harry Potter fan

Dallon Taylor

Have you guys in general or some subgroup of EZA considered going at some point to one or more of the smaller gaming conventions? As an East Coast guy, I've gone to MAGFest outside D.C. and Too Many Games in Philadelphia, and it's a much different feel than larger events. MAGFest in particular is unique and amazing, with lots of stuff to do, while still a small enough event that it feels like a group of friends.

James Post

My vote is to keep it a show. you guys already have way more streams that I have time to watch, so if you switch to that format chances are I will never get around to watching it. Plus, watching an archive always makes me feel like I missed the event. I'm happy to wait.

Isaac King

What would you do if Grand Theft Auto VI is revealed, but the VI turns into VICE CITY? -- Would you be excited to return to that setting, or do you want to explore new areas?

Seth Parmer

Brandon, pick one: Speed Racer, Star Blazers or Battle of the Planets.

Jason Walstrom

Original animated Beauty and the Beast is basically perfect, so... yeah. Gonna be hard to hit that mark. Still intrigued though.

iconmaster

Hey Brandon, Have you seen Kinda Funny's studio yet? Just wondering about your thoughts on it, as they also started out using a spare room and now have their own studio.

Do you regret unloading your GT library? Do you wish you had kept it for EZA or was it something you legally had to do as part of separation from Defy?

TravelingSnowman

Just by mentioning Shenmue, you now have to make it happen. I heard you say Shenmue and my mind almost exploded in excitement.

Mikehook1

Will there be special stream schedule plan for Easy Allies for week of Tokyo Game show?

Glad to have you back Brandon, not like you ever really left. What has been the larger industry response, if any, to EZA? I know Blood has mentioned the contacts for games, but does the industry see you as a startup or a continuation of GT at this point with a larger reach than a normal startup? How have other publications such as ign, polygon, etc, viewed EZA?

Dale Payne

I've recently seen a stream with the guys at Funhaus playing a friendly game of Overwatch with the Game Grumps. I know you guys are friends with the guys at Funhaus so what would it take for the Allies to have a friendly game against Funhaus or dare I say the Game Grumps? Or the EZA against any other group for that matter?

Joey and Cait

Hey Jones, you got me hooked on Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Now I need a guild to join. How do I find/join the Easy Allies guild?

James Sanders

Good to have you back Brandon! Question: Would you consider using Cup of Jones mainly for the editorial part instead of user questions? It seems we already have a lot of opportunities to ask stuff, but I find your editorials interesting and insightful. Unfortunately, it sometimes feels like DLC to the episode where the main content is user questions. (Fully understanding the irony of asking this on this show)

Good to have you back in the land of the living. I hope you keep doing Cup of Jones like this, as a show. Although I appreciate the streams I don't want everything to be an archived, laid back, stream.

Bald Jones? That sounds like stakes in a bet!

That is a mug Jones, a mug :P Suggestions for Retro: Syndicate (only 3 games, first 2 are shortish without a lot of plot to cover).

By the time of the next Cup of Jones we'll know much more about Kyle's new job, but could you give us an update and some kind of a summary of it? What are the ramifications in EZA because of that?

Ville Ranto

The retrospective felt more of a review at times, And only rarely compairing it to other games in its time. It's nice to see in retrospectives how the graphics compared to other games, why the game wasn't as big of a succes because it launched alongside though competition or late in a console cycle, etc...

Outlandish fundraising idea; you should get yourself and the other Allies onto some gameshows and claim the prize money as EZA's. Ian on "Big Brother" or Huber on "Jeopardy!" seems like a sure win to me.

Alex McMillan

Suggestion, if anyone at EZA hasn't played FF VI I would like to see you talk them like what Kyle did with you.

Brandon I think a Chrono retrospective (Trigger, Cross and Radical Dreamers) would be a great way to close 2016. Hint Hint.

Hey Brandon, How much would it take to send Ben to TGS? Me and a lot of other allies would love it to see Ben's dream fulfilled, and I'd personally increase my funding for this goal. Seeing how passionate Ben is about the Japanese gaming industry, it'd seem like a match made in heaven.

Jones, I agree 100% on Gotham. They have the ENTIRE BATMAN/DC UNIVERSE at their disposal and THAT is the best they can come up with??, they even feel the need to create a new character (Fish Mooney or whatever she was called) when they have access to soooo many great characters?, unbelievable. My follow-up question which leans nicely back towards video games : what's your theory on what Rocksteady are doing? I've loved all the Arkham games (even Origins) and I would be delighted if they made another one. Rumours are that they're working on a Justice League game.....what would you like to see them do next? Cheers Jones 👍🏻

I keep asking everywhere but what happened to the high production value of Game Sleuth ?
