Brandon Sun, Kyle Moon - Part 3

I just got Pokemon Sun for Christmas. I just caught up to this part of the game now. One thing I gotta say, is that Jones is incredibly over levelled. Like extremely over levelled. I couldn't believe that he was level 31 against the second totum Pokemon. But, he can play the way he wants as long as he's enjoying it (and as long as he doesn't complain about the difficulty level). Regardless, Pokemon Sun is a huge step up from Pokemon X/Y. It's so much better. I'm enjoying this game quite a lot.

Finally caught up in the game and caught up on this series! Really liking it so far. I do hope bosman gets a bit more time to talk on his specific thoughts on the game. Unlike red, this is his first time playing this too. I'm like him where X didn't really work for me but I'm really liking these challenges. Also, any thoughts on the grimer quest in the mall? Or the machamp scene in the graveyard? These small details are bosman specials lol

Hey Brandon and Kyle, My wife is a Pokemon master. She has played every game in the series. I, on the other hand, am new to the series. But we found a REALLY fun way to battle each other. We do "B Team BATTLES!" Basically we trade DS's and pick from the other persons pokedex anything that is un-evolved and clearly a first capture. No move checking or anything beyond making sure each one has at least one attack. Then we battle! Because we have no idea what the other is going to pick and you have to make the best of what you get, it forces you to try new things and discover pokemon who you might not otherwise play with.

Just a heads up, pretty early on you can get a TM for False Swipe that does the same thing. You just need to talk to the Professor on the first island after you beat it. His house is on the southern beach near your mom's place.

Hey guys great show again. By far the best series from EZA . Just wanted to let you know you can get Munchlax from the wondergift area on the main menu. It's a promotion so it's only for a limited time. He is also holding a Z-Crystal that let's you use Snorlax's z move. He has become my go to guy for catching pokemon because he has a move that leaves the enemy at 1HP no matter how much health they have left.

I love Poliwag as well. If there weren't designated starters, I would choose Poliwag every time.

Ice is not very effective against water.

Loved the episode, but again I think Jones will never win until he knows ALL the pokemon type advantages by heart. I think Kyle should be coaching him a bit. "Do you know why that was super effective?" "Maybe you should use _____ against my guy here." etc. It appeared to me that Kyle let Brandon take that Sandslash out. Kyle could have won if he did an Ice move instead of Slash against Brandon's Water type. I'm pretty sure Ice beats Water? (Water freezes) Also, does Brandon know that his Growlithe has double advantage versus the Sandslash? Fire is effective against both Ice AND Steel (fire melts both). Another thing is he should be aware of attack power. He was confused by why his super effective mud slap barely hurt, well it was because it has an attack power of like 20. It's really just a better sand attack because it lowers accuracy and does a little damage at the same time. On top of that there's the difference between physical attacks and special attacks. His Brionne's aqua jet move didn't hurt Golem as much as it could have because it was a physical attack and Golem's defense is high. If he had done bubblebeam, which is a special attack it may have knocked Golem out. Anyways, all of this is to say that I think Kyle should be coaching him on these intricacies more at least until their final few battles where Brandon should be completely on his own.

Talking about pokeball technology, Gold and Silver (a.k.a. the Greatest Generation) address this! The first Pokeballs were made from apricorns, likes those you can have crafted by Kurt. They probably still required electricity and such (though would that have always been available, via electric type pokemon?) but those were supposed to predate the fully mechanical silph co mass produced ones.

I almost choked on my coffee when Brandon started talking about the hot lady's Olivia and Mallow. Great stuff. I like how Jones is exploring this game. I still think he has no idea how deep actually competitive Pokemon is. To bad Kyle doesnt really seem to be in that.
