Group Stream Night - The 2016 Easy Allies Awards
Added 2016-12-12 10:04:02 +0000 UTCHi Allies!
This week's Group Stream Night will be a special event: the first annual Easy Allies Awards! (Name not final. I just came up with that for this post) Throughout the regular two hour stream, we'll be debating which games should win awards in categories both broad and particular, silly and deadly serious, leading up to the finale, in which we will debut our fancier Game of the Year video.
In addition to this, there is one award that cannot be awarded without your help: The Patron Game of the Year. The fairest method I could think of is taking a bunch of the highest-rated games of 2016 and listing them all for vote. You can even click Other on the bottom to vote for a write-in. VOTE HERE:https://goo.gl/VA02Qp
Hopefully we'll see you there live this Tuesday at 6pm PT on twitch.tv/easyallies, and if not, hopefully on the archives on youtube.com/easyalliesplays
Lover & Respect,
Kyle

Having finished UC4, DOOM , FFXV (main campaign) and playing a few hours of TLG, my vote goes to ... Dark Souls 3.

2016-12-13 14:23:16 +0000 UTCTitanfall 2 is definitely my pick. Pokemon Sun/Moon was up there, as well as DOOM.
2016-12-13 13:51:48 +0000 UTCVoted Unravel, downloaded it last week and it's genuinely blown me away.

2016-12-13 12:49:57 +0000 UTCQuantum Break was actually at the top of my list with Fates + Moon but I had to give it to UC4 based on the conclusion and the feels.
2016-12-13 11:07:11 +0000 UTCAlmost voted The Last Guardian... Had to give to to UC4 though it's too good and i haven't finished TLG yet.

2016-12-13 09:33:34 +0000 UTCVery packed year between Inside, Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, Sun & Moon! I voted for Dark Souls 3, it is an incredible masterpiece, on par with Demon's and the first Dark Souls!
2016-12-13 08:52:55 +0000 UTCI voted for Uncharted 4. I thought it would be unnecessary at first considering how 3 ended but 4 actually managed to add even more depth to my already favorite franchise in gaming. I'm gonna miss those guys. โค๏ธ

2016-12-13 07:51:05 +0000 UTCI voted Firewatch, I hope a lot of people did too in the Other-section!
2016-12-13 07:33:54 +0000 UTCI wish firewatch would get some love from you guys. Fantastic narrative.

2016-12-13 05:45:51 +0000 UTCTitanfall 2 ! I would have voted for DS3 , but T2 did innovative things and it feels so good to play
2016-12-13 05:16:42 +0000 UTCvoted for titanfall 2 ( I'm also surprised). I had the most fun out of this game more than Dark Souls 3 even. It's been years since I enjoyed a FPS. I know it won't win but I have to be honest with myself .
2016-12-13 05:15:10 +0000 UTCXcom 2 wont win, but I honestly feel it was the best title this year

2016-12-13 05:00:41 +0000 UTCUncharted or something will win(no issue with that) but the work and dedication that went into Stardew Valley by just a single person is amazing. He not only succeeded in making a wonderfully charming game but managed to do it better than the bigger developers. My heart had to vote for ConcernedApe. No game/developer achieved more with less. Sheer force of will and a lot of love went into creating this game. A lot of deserving titles on this list. I do hope one site or publication makes Stardew Valley their game of the year before it is all said and done. Wanted to add...if you never got a chance to play on the pc/ps4/xbox one. There is a port being developed for the Nintendo Switch which I think could be a perfect platform for this game.

2016-12-13 04:23:11 +0000 UTCIf anything other than Inside, Stardew Valley or Owlboy wins I have lost faith in humanity! =P But honestly these games are true masterpieces. It's crazy that so few games, mainly indie, have captured that true magic newer generations tend to never have and always favor production value... Maybe I am just old :(
2016-12-13 03:37:03 +0000 UTCDecided to go with DOOM. I had fun with the MP demo, even though a majority of people didn't like it. But I did wait months until after it was out to finally buy it. And I still gotta finish the campaign. >.

2016-12-12 23:25:06 +0000 UTCI wrote in Trails of cold steel 2. It won't win but it gets my nod. It was the culmination of everything that happened in 1 and even all the npc's have arcs that get resolved. I know most allies never played this game but man I just smiled the whole time I played.

2016-12-12 19:02:31 +0000 UTCHave not watched any live EZA content yet, but will try to tune in for this one. any my vote in for DOOM - Rip and Tear
2016-12-12 18:33:27 +0000 UTCEven though its only a "remaster", Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is GotY for me. Although it comes closer to a remake with all the changes they made. The best remaster/remake I've played yet and overall my favorite game of all time. It's unique in so many ways.
2016-12-12 17:12:45 +0000 UTCFirst annual is not a thing it has to have happened at least once before to call it annual. The proper term is inaugural.

2016-12-12 16:55:21 +0000 UTCFor me Single Player GOTY: Firewatch Multiplayer GOTY: Overwatch

2016-12-12 16:32:13 +0000 UTCI know it's kinda obvious and boring since it already won game of the year at the VGA's, but I've had the most fun the longest with Overwatch. I never thought I'd get into an online only team based shooter, but it's so good!
2016-12-12 15:37:30 +0000 UTCPlacing my bid into DOOM. Not only was a refreshing remake/reboot, but also a return to form for id. It was also a great surprise when everyone discounted it being bad because of the review copies coming in at the last second. That SOUNDTRACK TOO.
2016-12-12 15:33:05 +0000 UTCTYRANNY. Not having Tyranny on there is a huge slight. Tyranny is one of the best cRPGs ever made and has an amazing, unique world that you have so much fun being a part of.

2016-12-12 15:19:45 +0000 UTCSurprised and happy to see Stephen's Sausage Rolls on the list!
2016-12-12 15:19:23 +0000 UTCUncharted 4. The first Uncharted that made me care for the characters and story, with many breathtaking environments for your eyeballs to feast on.

2016-12-12 15:01:51 +0000 UTCMight have to stay up late anyway so will try and see at least part of it live!

2016-12-12 12:57:53 +0000 UTCMost anticipated suggestions 1) Resident Evil 7 2) Persona 5 3)Phillip Dollarfield Doesn't Care About Saving The Princess 4) Scalebound 5) Spider-man PS4. Who am I kidding Spider-man not coming in 2017.

2016-12-12 12:54:07 +0000 UTCHoping to see some love for Titanfall 2 and Hitman from the guys, easily the 2 most fun games i've played this year.
2016-12-12 12:17:59 +0000 UTCI hope Last Guardian wins it. It's a such a great achievement.

2016-12-12 12:05:32 +0000 UTCI was torn between that and fire emblem.
Kyle Wooldridge
2016-12-12 10:41:00 +0000 UTCI hope fire emblem fates win it. I know no one played it but it still was like the highlight of my year and got me into the fire emblem series. Now only if I could find fire emblem awakening somewhere

2016-12-12 10:40:10 +0000 UTCOwboy for me. The love can be felt in every pixel and moment.

2016-12-12 10:38:21 +0000 UTCJust voted for dark souls 3 not once has the soul series let me down they deserve at least one game of the year... the game is unique, and has had hit after hit with out making us wait 10years for a game, i mean would you rather play darksouls3 over again over uncharted of coarse, i mean you could be new game +5 and still find something new in the game...fromsoftware deserves it, the dark souls community absolutely deserves it... people vote for darksouls 3 love and respect J. Walter Ludwig IV p.s. hyperlite drifter better win best indie, i mean over even "inside"
2016-12-12 10:35:44 +0000 UTCI kind of agree. And I'm sure that making a bigger deal of these awards by making "proper" videos for them would also draw a lot more YouTube views (people love awards!). Maybe the decision can be made during the group stream, and they'll make official videos showing the nominees and the winners afterwards for posterity? Best of both worlds.
Axel
2016-12-12 10:34:47 +0000 UTCHere are my predictions for the GOTY nominees (assuming there are only 5 nominees allowed): INSIDE Overwatch Final Fantasy XV The Last Guardian Uncharted 4 What could also be nominated: Dishonored 2, Doom, Dark Souls 3 What should win: INSIDE. What I'd love to see win: The Last Guardian. What EZA will give the win to: Overwatch What should be nominated but will be ignored by everybody: Hyper Light Drifter.

2016-12-12 10:28:08 +0000 UTCThe game I had most fun with this year was actually Deus Ex. The other games were great, but no other game had me wanting to explore every part of it as much as Deus Ex did. Well, except FFXV, but I'm 30 hours in and only upto the third chapter... x_x
2016-12-12 10:18:53 +0000 UTCCan't watch it live but can't wait to see the archive later this week. As for my personal vote it easily has to go to FFXV.
Chris
2016-12-12 10:10:54 +0000 UTCI'd really have prefered to get a bunch well done pre-edited videos for the GOTY awards, like you used to do it at GT. Or is that the "fancier GOTY video" you are talking about? As much as I love you guys I'm absolutely no fan of group streams. The audio is bad, one group of people is talking in the back, while another is talking in the front, I just don't enjoy it as much.
