Audio Editing. You know, for fun!

I can't promise this will be the most exciting stream you've ever seen, but if you're curious the method I use to cut audio (voice over and music) for our reviews here's an introduction to Adobe Premiere and my editing process. I wanted to cut the entire video in one stream, but I'm still figuring out how to get the video playback within Premiere to show up in Xsplit. When I get over that hurdle I'll stream this again, picking up after the audio edit and actually dropping video clips in (aka, the good part). I'm constantly learning as an editor, picking up things from other people that work in video. I even got a couple of tips from chat and I'm grateful for the positive feedback. Always a pleasure selecting "Creative" instead of a video game for a change. Thanks for watching!

Audio Editing. You know, for fun!

Comments

I love these behind the scenes things. I'd love to see someone playing a game for review and their thoughts while they run through it.

Hey Jones awesome vid. I'm not sure how often you guys check the comments, but could you give a quick overview of your rig? Specs, os, and all that jazz. I'd like to get into editing, for fun mostly, so just thought I'd ask. Thanks again and keep em coming.

This was a lot more entertaining than I thought it would be.

This was great Jones! Would love to see more content like this in the future!

Fun to watch :)

Really enjoyed this. Would like to see more going forward, preferably with video edits too. I've done a bit of compositing and editing myself and there really is something about the creative process that makes this both fun to watch and do.

This is better then the shrek movie!!

Was really fun, interesting and relaxing to watch!

This was super insightful! It was great watching from the perspective of someone totally new to editing. There were moments where I would think to myself 'that sounded fine why change it?' and then you would keep digging until it clicked and then there was that moment of 'Ah now I see why you kept going'. I'd love to see another one of these in the future if you can end up getting the video preview to show on stream. Love and respect Jones!

This is brilliant! As an animator and video editor I use After Effects and Premiere every day so it's really cool to see your workflow. As a side note we've started using an open source capture software called OBS studio which I would recommend for capturing both your audio and display output for editing software, we use it for filming tutorial videos. Thank you very much Jones, love and respect from the UK.

This was super cool! I already said this on Twitter, but I will reiterate: I like how it could be used as a general teaching tool about how to learn Premiere. A personal quirk: How I've learned from it, the raw file was in the left window and the overall edit was on the right. Thanks for doing this Mr. Jones!

I always here you guys talk about editing but I know nothing about it. So its is very cool to actually see how you edit and the work that you do to make these awesome video's. I would love a second part! Thank you for sharing this! L&R

As an Assistant Editor currently working on a feature film in Premiere this kind of stuff is awesome! Hyped to see more like this!

Nice! Hopefully some of the techniques in this will translate to using Audacity, I'll check out the stream in a bit - this should be very useful, thank you for doing this.

what's a cheap but still good for my money video editor i can use to get started in cutting videos? i used to use windows movie maker wayyyy back in the day and i remember it was fun, and this video just reminded me that i should start being more creative

I was always taught at Uni to work on audio separately in a DAW first and then drop it in to the video, so this will be an interesting insight into another method.

Great stuff. I love these behind the scenes videos. It’s just something you don’t think about when watching something on YouTube. I truly have a whole new appreciation for the videos you guys make. Awesome!

Princess Bride is better than Shrek

Please do these more often, and release them as editing tips for Adobe Premiere! I'm sure the 'net is full of nerds like me that'll flock to something done as professionally as this.
