Just finished the game. Wow. 10/10. 5/5. However you want to rate it. It's a modern masterpiece.

Close to beating the game, and I totally agree with the 5/5 score. UC4 completely fixed the clunky shooting mechanics, and the level design has made fights so much better. They also have done a much better job integrating the shooting sequences, so they feel more cinematic/story driven, rather then tedious wave killing (and the more open level design which allows you to tackle enemies different ways, also helps with that regard). The graphics are insane. I'm a PC gamer with a $5,000 + machine, and this game is blowing my mind. The Character models alone, are so good. THE ONLY issue I have with this game, is that I feel some of the "traversing" bits might feel a bit too long. Unlike some people though, I have no issue with the game having slow chapters. I actually think the game is 10x better because of the slower chapters. I like to take a breather and hear the characters banter back and forth. I like to take in scenery, and chew on the story. But there is still a couple parts where I feel like the "climbing" sections go on a bit too long. But other then that, this is about as perfect as a game as it gets. And it completely blows the other UC games out of the water. Even UC2 which I think some might still prefer (because of the pacing and story beats), I just can't go back to those games, without noticing how flawed things are.

This is what you get, when everyone is afraid of being accused of being a sexist or making one wrong move, and being labeled for something. Devs are afraid to have a Male punch a Woman right int he face (even if she is a better fighter than Drake and tougher than him)...and they would equally be as afraid if they didn't have enough women/strong roles in the game for them. So what we get, is something in the middle. However, at least applaud ND, since Nadine is a much better fighter than Nathan Drake. So from a story perspective, it's believable. When I first fought her, he DOES punch her in the side (I was able to punch her hard in the side of the stomach, just never the face). Although we seem to have slightly different experiences. At the auction house where you first meet her, I absolutely was able to land some punches on her. Again, they were to the side of her body (and they were hard hits). But you are right, Nate doesn't full on Punch in her the face or anything more direct then that. I honestly never would have thought this would be a problem that anyone would have, because I felt they sold the Nadine character (and her strength) over Nate. Nate is also old and washed up by this point, and she's just a much better fighter. So her working Nate over, made sense to me. I never thought during the sequence: oh, this seems off. This doesn't seem right. But that's just me. At the end of the day, Devs like any artist, should be able to take criticism. But most artists don't have to deal with criticism that essentially accuses you of being racist/sexist if you make something that people aren't happy with. It's that leap from telling someone that they could do better with a character (based on race/gender), and saying something is flat out racist/sexist -- and implying the Dev had that intention (or by extension is racist/sexist).

The 1st perfect score... I assumed they'd give it a 4.5. I loved, neigh, am loving the game... I just have one small gripe with it. The sexism... the what? Yeah there is obvious sexism in two parts of this game... *MINOR SPOILERS* in both encounters with the female mercenary Drake doesn't hit her at all.... just gets his ass kicked and it was obvious to me that it was a choice in order to not have the Anita Sarkeesians of the world draw negative attention to their title. It's completely fine that he loses the fights... but to not even get a single punch to connect?

Great review. Not sure about calling the campaign 16 hours though. I'm 20 hours in and still haven't finished. Of course, that's because I walk around every area slowly with my mouth hanging open. Photo mode also serves as a time suck. I probably have more photos of Uncharted 4 than I do of my own family at this point.

I can stealth kill my way through? Without having to deal with waves and waves of enemies? Whoa, last Uncharted game and I finally might even enjoy the combat.

I'd absolutely love a n Uncharted 4 Spoiler Discussion once enough of the Allies have completed it. I just finished it last night after being on media blackout, despite IGN's attempts to spoil it for me on Facebook, and feel like Easy Allies would have some great opinions on the topic

An amazing game, which got what it deserved here. I had tears in my eyes when it ended.

Great review! I could not agree more. Finished the campaign last night and it was an exquisite experience. I'd argue this is even more accomplished than The Last of Us in the way the story weaves together. And the epilogue was truly beautiful.
