Huber Syndrome - Episode 04: Reviews and Hype

Comments

Nothing wrong with your review of 3.5

alan roosen

I really wished you would've at least given your thoughts on the movie. It seems that everyone that has seen it, including the fans of the game franchise, didn't think much of it and said you would be saving your time and money by not watching it.

Great stuff as always, Huber. Wouldn't mind a little more time on these episodes, but then again, nothing wrong with short and sweet.

Huber! I'm calling you and the Allies out now! I may not remember to post on this upcoming week's Love & Respect! Be my voice Huber! I boot up my PS4 for the first time in ages tonight after a few brews. What do I see? Battlefield 1! WORLD WAR 1 BATTLEFIELD! To 7 Nation Army! I am HYPED! After all the talk from the Allies about doing something new, this setting specifically mentioned at least once in the past year, I'd like to know your thoughts, both as the Huber that I love, and the other Allies as well. In hyped. How about you? Love and Respect. -Ken Layre

This episode is all guilt you feel guilty Huber for that 3.5 but stick to your guns you're the professional here.

Great having Huber talking about the difference between reviewing a game and being a fan - top episode

I do think this show is getting better overall so I hope I'm not being too critical. huber's great as always, however i do miss the old weekly production schedule. I think the show loses something by doing 5-6 episodes at once, and the episode topics seem a bit generic but that's just my opinion. It would have been great to get a nintendo focused show after the NX news that came out this week or maybe an uncharted episode before that game releases. Plus you can bring back the questions from the fans which was a big part of the last show. Lastly, I have to agree the "syndrome" was disappointing this week, i'm all for bringing back huber's queue, if you're out of movie ideas already.

The Bosman experience scared the piss out of me.

I thought it was fair, although I believe 8-11 is the sweet spot for Huber.

God these episodes are short. You didn't even talk about the movie. What else you got to do...let's see some meat on these bones.

He gave it a 3.5 / 5, that's still a good score

Pretty long-winded way of saying that you kind of regret giving this awesome game no more than a measly 2 out of 5 stars! Seriously, you reviewed one of the best HD remakes ever and gave it bad score just because you actually would have liked it to be a completely new, full-prize game. That's not objective criticism, but just bashing a game for not being what it actually never meant (nor purported) to be in the first place. Apology accepted, though ... just don't give Uncharted 4 a bad review just because you'd rather have liked Naughty Dog to come up with a new franchise instead of a sequel ... :)

"Sword of the Stranger" and "Samurai Champloo" are the BEST!

Great episode Huber, I'm one of those people that never gave it a chance just because I was so intimidated by how many games there were and I wasn't sure where to start, though I always thought it looked really cool. I'm super excited to finally give this a go after I finish Dark Souls and Uncharted.

Huber, off topic, check out "Sword of the Stranger" Amazing anime movie that I feel was made for you! Intense samurai action with an amazing score!

Mr. Huber, great episode! As a long fan of the franchise, I have been looking forward to this entry for the last couple of years and I'm glad you decided to make an episode on this. Currently going through the game and have watched the movie and I gotta say: Love the game, disappointed in the movie. As far as the movie goes, what are your thoughts? In terms of the game, not to bring it up as a complaint but as FINALLY understanding your score: the 3.5/5 was confusing to me because in the review, the only criticism I heard was there was no new weaponry. Thanks to this episode, the concept of going through and doing things again seemed to be a major hangup for you. If that is correct, did that factor in to your score and if so, should it have? Isn't the purpose of a reboot, as you stated here, to bring in new people, so having the locales from the first game and the weapons over the series be a good thing? I understand the desire for new weapons and I agree about the Pixelizer, as it is also a favorite of mine, but now with that coupled with a sense of recycled material, I now understand the 3.5. MY personal hangup so far are the ship flying missions, but their few and far between and not damaging to the experience. Sorry to ramble, and thanks again for doing this episode! Really enjoyed it as it has fueled more R&C hype. Stay Easy fellow Ally.

You didn't even discuss the movie? =(

Wasn't a great movie, but it was really funny. Go once. See it in 3D (really well done 3D) maybe never see it again. Be completely whelmed.

Huber c'mon, I love Ratchet and Clank as much as the next guy, but that movie was subpar. No free passes!
