Huber Syndrome - Episode 03: Bears and Dreams

Comments

Damn I must have missed this one when it came out but I disagree with Huber here. Far Cry Primal was a missed opportunity. Sadly I understand Ubisofts train of thought: - cater to the far cry fans with the same concept and nice visuals and make more money than money spend -. For me that is not enough, the game could be so good if they would get rid of the repetitive far cry mechanics (map with points of interest, kill a village, find an outpost, etc etc.) There is no real sense of survival in that game and the way you handle your bow is just dumb down. Since Far Cry 3 I stay away from this franchise. Just my two cents on this one.

The show is scary and I kinda am afraid of looking at you sometimes. Close to the feel of me at the dentist chair. Also, it's just very disorienting with your jolliness. It is like you peek a boo to a kid but you do it angry and sharp. The kid gets scared but still laughs in between with a lot of confusion. Yeah I did that a lot ^^

"It helps" - :D :D :D :D

Totally wrote off Primal before it came out. Now it's got a fighting chance.

I had no intention of getting Far Cry Primal, but after watching Huber get into it, I decided to give it a try. It's easily my favorite Far Cry game. After getting a few hours into it I decided to turn of all hud and hint options. I just want it to be me and the woods. It makes you listen to everything going on around you. Fantastic world. I'll probably never finish the story.

Great editing on the bear reveal.

Huber love the show but really wishing it was at least 10 minutes, and are there any plans to read comments on the show like you used too?

Apocalypto has some of the most impressive visual story telling ever. Those scenes when they gradually approach the main city are outstanding in that respect. And as far as atmosphere is concerned, how that movie did not win oscars for best costume design and makeup is beyond my understanding. Also, people loving Fury Road should really credit Apocalypto for defining the basic structure and formula behind it - right down to the simple, but effective "there and back again" chasing arc.

Good episode. Watched Sound of My Voice and thought it was pretty good but the ending was a little cheap! Kept thinking about the movie for days after though, so that's a win. All the bear talk got me thinking about a gem of a movie called Backcountry - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2944198/. Suggest it to everyone and it never gets watched. Don't even watch the trailer, just jump in!

after far cry 3, you just play for that 'feeling'...you're right about it not really bringing much but it's a solid game at least and climbing mountains is dope no matter how simplistic it is...also wingsuits and co-op <3

Good show. I haven't been able to get into Far Cry Primal. Wielding a club in the first person doesn't feel right to me. If you are not 100% settled on the name I suggest Hubiquity.

Love this show!

Apocalypto.. Nice!

I will NEVER get tired of hearing Huber talk about how Wolfenstein deserved that award. Such a good game.

awesome energy, love your show x

The "It's time for the syndrome" slow-motion talking bit gets more disturbing each episode, but great show otherwise.

Anyone ever play the caveman game Tail of the Sun? I remember a video game magazine declared it an absolute masterpiece. When I played it I was shocked by how awful it was. Still my favorite terrible game ever.

Huber is an unstoppable behemoth. I have a feeling that Ubi Soft does more back door shady deals then most, but I still like the Far Cry series. The last Assassins Creed was pretty good too. Not a great company, but solid 7.8

Best episode yet, agreed. Huber is finding his GROOVE. And that groove has bears.

Great episode :)

Best episode so far. Thanks Mike i also wish it would be a bit longer say 10 to 12 minutes would love to see you go more in depth than you already do. I'm gonna pick up FCP. Apocalypto was awesome loved passion of the Christ (very bold) and Braveheart as wel he is a great director. Too bad he doesn't direct as much

I don't really think FC Primal is ultra risky considering it literally uses the exact same world as 4, just reskinned. All of the assets are re-used too, and while I agree that it's a very interesting and unique concept for a game, I can't get on board with it being a risky endeavour considering those things.

Huber, Watching you tame a bear on stream was the most touching moment ive had on twitch.
