Tabletop Escapades - Episode 4

Greetings! Episode four of Tabletop Escapades is now on YouTube and SoundCloud! It will be on iTunes as soon as the store refreshes (within the next 24 hours).

Our heroes are finally finished with their battle against the Nightingale assassins. Now, they enter a cave filled with traps, enemies, and clues about a greater threat...

Just a quick note, we shot five episodes in bulk, meaning episodes 4-8 were recorded in the same session. In episodes four and five, I think it's pretty obvious that we're still getting into the zone. There's some confusion about the rules and the general rhythm takes a bit to establish. Things get much, MUCH better as the episodes progress, so if you're frustrated at first, I ask that you please stick with it. I appreciate the understanding.

Tabletop Escapades - Episode 4

Comments

Ellis finds comedy in just being a cool and genuine fella, Bosman (with great comedic timing) finds humor in observation and wit, Hinck finds humor in negativity and Huber finds humor in emotional investment and passion. Hell of a mix, definitely caters to many demographics. Oh and Moore is the lovable captain of the ship. We gotta spread the good word of Easy Allies ;) This has been a great journey so far :) Keep up the great work Allies, and thanks for sharing such amazing content :)

I am all for the house rules and not being a rule stickler. That being said, I encourage the rest of the party to brush up just a bit on some things. Specifically things that are relating to your class. For example, spell slot regaining from short rests is class dependent. Ian as a Warlock regains all spell slots on a short rest and Kyle as a Wizard has specific rules for regaining spell slots based on class features.

Great work so far Ben, I'm loving what you're doing with this campaign. Curious though, do you ever wish you were playing instead of DMing? Because after this campaign is over I think it would be interesting to let Ian give DMing a shot. I think he's got a good handle on the rules and I'm interested to see you RP your own character.

Again, great job Ben & guys! Not sure about the length though. I'd prefer slightly longer episodes. The "tutorial" battle took three episodes and we only saw one small fight (+ a small part of the first "dungeon") in this episode. I'm sure that the pace will pick up once every character develops and gets better gear. But could you at least try few 90 minute episodes and see how it goes? And PLEASE, the grain must play a big role in the endgame! #Love&Respect #ObeyTheLaw

I just want to say, i love the extended roleplay conversations, and also the Pez dispenser collection.

I would love some merch for this show. Wanting to show of my appreciation, being everything I wanted it to be. Even if most people probably will have no idea what my shirt is referencing to.

I love the interactions between the characters (Kyle's character trying to get stories out of Huber's character was priceless)! It seems like you're all having a really good time playing D&D, can't wait for the next episode!

How you guys not guessed that these kobolds on top is alive!!!! It was so obvious))

Great job guys!

1:03:37 I ship it.

Always fantastic! I have an idea that I think it kind of neat. So natural 20s mean something very great will happen, and natural 1s means something very bad will happen, right? What if you combine them? Like say if something happens that requires two dice rolls at the same time or very close to each other. If the person manages to roll both a one and a twenty, something special should happen! Something chaotic and out of left field. And just not have them cancel each other out. Just a suggestion.

I think the only resistance might be their first experience with it and a max distance

Oscar Magana

There should be more rules against Ian speaking into everyone´s mind as he wishes. Some kind of resistence.

Fantastic episode, the accents have been superb so far!

Tim O'Keeffe

Great episode! I don't think you need to make a note saying these episodes will be worse than the next Ben. Of course there will be better and worse (probably still ridiculously good) episodes. Besides sometimes the heat and "tension" in the group only makes it better.

This is so good! I actually hope the grain will play a more significant role in the future, Lars would have had a reason to carry it. Lastly I all would survive untill the end, I picture Yogola as an old mage performing tricks on the streets with cats and Zizi in particular ;)

Oh man, I'm really liking where this is going already. Ben, you're the heart of all this, thank you. And the guys are starting to get more into it episode by episode, yes.

Ville Ranto

I'm going to sleep tonight dreaming about a Fort of Grain.

Jason Walstrom

That's an odd way to look at friendship. xD

I don't think this show would work if everything was good vibes all the time. DnD is about a group of friends. Sometimes those friends get annoyed at each other. -Ben

Easy Allies

Loved it!

Ian Alexander

Hmm, there seems to be a lot of tension in this episode. Maybe it's just because of the opening bit with Ben and Ian, but after that everyone is a lot more apologetic to Ben. Maybe it's because Ben is really tired/stressed. At least he looks pretty tired. I didn't like the uneasy alliance going on, at least. The Ben and Ian uneasiness was in TTA sometimes, too. At the same time, this is the funniest episode of TTE yet. Making a fortress out of sacks of grain. Law needing grain whenever he gets hurt. Yogalla trolling by yelling when Law is trying to stealthily listen through a door. I haven't laughed this hard in forever!

Law strangely reminds me of Max Payne

Rodrigo Aoun

Much better stopping point for this episode. Greatly appreciate the fifteen minutes over.

MBUN

What makes it such a winning formula are the in-betweens. I love the chemistry you have and when Ben gets mildly annoyed the show gets all the better.

Ben, I actually never watched or listened to "Tabletop Adventures" before watching this series, so I've been doing that while waiting for new "Escapades" episodes. Snapping at Ian at the beginning of this episode was extremely apropos to that series as the same dynamic often developed between you two there. As such, I encourage that you snap at Ian whenever the situation calls for it. ^_~ To me it reinforces the love the Easy Allies have for one another. Love and respect. <3

I never watched on GT, but i really love the tabletop escapades! Hope you guys do it for a very long time.

I have not once played D&D but I love this show. Filming in big chunks seems like a best way to do it if it means more consistent episodes.

If you play the video, the title of the video will appear at the top left. Click that title and it will take you to the YouTube page that it is posted on.

Super excited. Thanks guys. My project is coming along well too. Hope to share some updates with you soon
