Tabletop Escapades - Episode 11

Hey Ben! Big fan of your campaign. I know you're playing this kinda loosely with the rules, but I thought I should mention that Ian's spells have "components" that should be taken into account. Tasha's Hideous Laughter has V, S, M listed in its spell description. Vocal (he has to speak in an audible voice), somatic (he has to wave his hands around) and material (he has stuff he has to expend to cast it). I just think it'd be more amusing that there are consequences to him auto-laughtering people when they come to and very clearly recognise who had cast the spell on them. After all, silent and still spells are feats (at least I think so in 5e?) that are really valuable in later levels! Kudos for running such a fun game though, your improvisation skills are excellent :D

"For those of you that are unfamiliar, this is a Dungeon and Dragons show where we play Dungeons and Dragons. Basically what that means it's kind of an improvisational comedy show. I create a world and a storyline and these guys get to screw it up completely, and we dont get to experience any of it." - Moore, BEN. Foreshadowing Master, TTE Ep01.

Man... these guys are the best roleplayers. I want to play in a group like this so bad. Every time I get in a D&D game it's just people who can't wait to get to the next combat encounter. Combat is the least fun part of the game for me.

Tabletop Escalations. Great episode you guys^^

Loved this episode! Hysterical all around. But, Ben, why the lack of Persuasion rolls? Never know, Huber might roll a nat 20 and the adventure would've really rolled on.

Robert I.

Huber, you are a maniac. I mean that in the best way possible.

This DnD session had been like a bad dream that just spirals and decends into a nightmarish madness. *palmed face, crooked smile*

David Halvorsen

I don't agree, especially not in Yogalia's case. He seemed neutrally aligned from the start, and he did get help immediately in the form of Law. Law's lack of "zen" makes sense considering his Monk's relatively low Wisdom stat (which may have gimped him combat-wise) and his zealous pursuit of justice makes sense considering his background.

The DnD 5th edition Player's Handbook and Monster Manual

What was the name of the book/s they are using for the spells, creatures, etc...?

Truly great episode. So funny. Ben if I could make one suggestion, you really should have the guys role persuasion more often. That way they couldn't maybe have a shot at getting their wild ideas accepted by the other characters.

It's gotten to the point where I can like these episodes before watching them, because I know they'll be pure gold. Admittedly, I only watch like two different DnD shows, but I still feel like this might be the best one on the internet.

MBUN

Hilarious episode! So one character's sitting for a portrait to put on an eyepatch. One plans an elaborate cat heist. And the others get stuck in a wall of the city they just got tossed out of. I don't know what Ben thought could happen in this town, but I bet this wasn't it.

Adam

If that escalated meme was ever to represent something perfectly, it was this episode.

Tim O'Keeffe

Hilarious episode. Tad short though. Short episodes might hurt the viewer patience factor. Makes sidetracks and hijinks slightly less fun. Just slightly! That said, I can't wait to see what fate awaits those poor cats..

Gan Khef

I couldn't stop laughing this last couple episodes but i can't help but feel this is the result of some VERY out of character actions. Law's antics are funny but not really befitting a drawf monk, and Yogalia not even trying to catch or help Moof feels completely out of character.

Bryan Flynn for the Win!

hahaha!!!! this is just so so fun every week! easy my highlight... keep it up guys!! LOVE!

Chris

Just curious - is it possible for the entire team to get killed off (say they get captured and executed for their crimes)? I've never played D&D before, but I assume that's how you "fail" the game?

This is podcast that I look forward to the most each week. It's one of the only things that makes me lol. I would love for your Patreon to make a goal that doubles the episode length. I would definitely be in straight away!

This cracks me up so hard. Pretty sure at this rate it'll take two years to complete.

Tyler Travis

Simply phenomenal. I did not expect that ending lmao. How could this have gone any worse for the protagonists!?

I think they will never leave this place alive xD. They will end in jail xD

This was amazing. It's faced paced and hilarious, and Ben is just letting things happen while also being challenging and informative. Spoilers: Ben tried so hard to help them out at the end there, i can't believe yogala and law froze when they saw stuff was going down! just drop that rope and stick your head out and yell! could have made a quick getaway

Ben's writing this nicely along with the group's surprise decisions, two thumbs up. I'm just hoping that Brad would get his moment as well, currently Necator's actions seem kind of minor when compared to the others. But a fun episode again, in any case.

Ville Ranto

The utter chaos and madness made this episode too funny. Poor Ben though. RIP main story arc.

I really appreciate the DMing this week, keeping the players in check while being fair and logical. They'll hopefully escape the city and get to some proper adventuring soon.

Ian Alexander

Huber's mouth gets them in trouble and Kyle disappears in his hoodie. Yet again.

the_finnish_ally

Amazing episode this week! I love that Ben put his foot down and said No to more Priest shenanigans. Crazy stuff can (and did) happen even if the DM doesn't indulge every whim of the players. In fact I love that it forced Yogala and Law to think on their feet and come at the problem from a different angle!

Olf Himself

Great episode, my face hurts from laughter. Co-workers keep giving me side long glances.

haha love this

My goodness this was so good. Ben I feel for you bud.

Marcos C.

This is so so funny. I loved the old campaign and was worried that the new one could not be as hilarious but my god I love these characters so much.

TheClassiestHobo

This is one of my favorite times of the week. On to adventure!

ohboyohboyohboyohboy

I want to watch it in theater))
