Great review. I LOVE the ten point scale. I never understood on the 100 point scale if we were supposed to believe that a 8.4 in one genre was better than an 8.3 in another.

Great review! I was worried you guys weren't doing a review for dark souls 3 because you guys are so busy starting out. I know you see it a lot on comments, but I also don't like the 10 point scale. All games are going to be 7, 8, or 9. 100 point scale give much more clarity in the quality of game. I hope you guys reconsider.

Agree, even at 720p I could notice a lot of patching, always thought the quality was from the crappy GT player, now that it's posted on youtube there should be no issues in adding 1080p. Maybe when they get the new PC up and running we can see some decent 1080p videos.

Lovely review as always Allies! Though, I'm still not jellin with the stars system. Stars are hardly representative of a game or what's said in a review, I'd prefer going back to the 10.0 point system or something more unique.

I have struggled for years trying to beat both dark souls 1 and 2 and have. I beat both demon souls and bloodborne easily. I currently have a week off of work and want to beat the first two games before playing the third. Are there any tips that dark souls veterans and members of the easy allies could give me before I embark down this path.

Damn, I tried to go media blackout on Dark Souls III, but knowing Ben was reviewing this I had to check. Not disappointed with the score, I booked a week off for the release and I'm seriously overhyped right now.! I like the star rating system, cutting out decimals and just having each half star being a point. I'll forever miss the 7.8s though

I dont know if it is the yearning in my Soul but Quantum Break got the same score (4.5 Stars) as Dark Souls 3. Maybe you docked DS3 because of tech issues or GB just felt fresher. IDK either I am not understanding the mentality of the reviewers or maybe there is just not enough depth in the 5 Star (10 point) system.

Well they are from different reviewers. And something tells me you haven't played either of these games ;) I understand that you must be big fan of Souls series, but there are games just as good and even better out there. The scoring system is fine, the important things in reviews are found in the text.

I love the way you guys approach reviews and I still think you guys are the most consistent when it comes to to get that job done, no argue to that! But the star rate system for me is a bit confusing when it comes to a more specific point in a review compared to 0/10 system, which have a wider range of possibilities for an example DS3 has the same rate as Quantum Break, but somewhat feels like they are not at the same lvl.. Great review Ben. The level design being more like DSII has made me a little concerned that it'll be better than Bloodborne or Dark Souls but I can't wait to play it

Great review I really enjoyed it ! I do have a little problem with it though. Again I don't have problem with the scoring 4.5 means must play I get it. Thing I don't understand though is why 4.5 and not 5. The review was almost 100% positive and you had only some minor gripes about the fps issues. And I'm not writing this because I'm a From Software fanboy but I seriously wonder what was quite not right with the game that it didn't reach that 'Bloodborne is a 10' level. Feel like the review didn't explain that properly. Again not trying to criticize because I liked the review - it's just a bit of feedback.

Better than IGN & Gamespot reviews... Creator should write articles somwhere!

So what I was wondering about: most of the reviews I read pretty much had different opinions on the difficulty of this title. And while that's expected with every game, each of the reviews make specific mention of it because it's a souls game. You were the only ones saying the game gets gradually harder - but do you think this to be a good thing or would you say that it could potentially put off long-time players?

I am with you. I just uninstalled Dark Souls because I got frustrated fighting some minor knight over and over again and wasting my time.

good review but do not like the star system - now there are 10 potential grades as opposed to 100 when using numbers with points, leaving less way to differentiate games and more lumping games together that don't really fit.

Thanks for the review! No doubt it's a great game. But for some reason Souls games have never tempted me enough to buy and try one. Been sitting on my Steam wishlist for a while. It's not because of the difficulty, but these games don't give me what I want in RPG:s. And everything in these games seem so drab and gloomy, I need something jolly in the mix =) Even just watching Souls induces some anxiety in me!

Can I just say that I absolutely adore the animations for the Reviews? They're so simple and elegant. They really fit in with the whole Easy Allies theme. Don't even miss the GT animations.

I really want to like these games, but I find the Bosses in Bloodborne frustrating!!! I reallly give it my best and I just can't with the bosses, everything else is so good that I find not being able to see the rest so frustrating :(

Really well written review Ben! The in-game dialogue's getting cut off at the end which is kind of bothering me. It's just a minor detail though. Also, you guys should start uploading your stuff in 1080p (at least the reviews).

Still wish the stars were a different color. Just blends in too much. Try a Mario gold coin color maybe?
