BUILD ME!

This Tuesday, 6 PM PT on Twitch.tv/EasyAllies, this PC gets built. What's the first thing we should play on it? What mouse/keyboard combo should we get? You (our Patrons) helped us purchase each and every part of this beautiful machine. Thank you. Hopefully our games and streams will now be smooth sailing straight into the sun.

(Getting our Intel Core i7-6700K on Monday, FYI).

BUILD ME!

Comments

At a slippery, rock solid, buttery, silky, oily, silky 45fps max with dips.

Is this going to be on the Youtube channel?

Jason I.

my 2 cents on mouse and keyboard which may be a bit late, but R.A.T. mouse wired, and the Corsair mechanical keyboard. Oh, and you want a good mouse pad: Razor Hard mouse pad

Must be nice, since I could barely understand what most of that stuff is

Danni-H4

Quantum Break on Ultra? HECK YES.

Minesweeper!!!!!!!!

The first game you guys should play on this beast is Carmen Sandiego.

Awesome build, can't wait to see what you guys product from this machine. Personally would use an NVMe SSD but for gaming it wouldn't make much difference.

I love my Razer Deathadder mouse, it is weighted well and the clickiness of the mouse buttons is very satisfying. Also, hard to go wrong with a Corsair K70 RGB keyboard. The back lighting effects are gorgeous

Jordan Tyler Wayne Wheeler

dark souls 3 would be a great way to break the pc in :)

A group Minesweeper on the hardest difficulty with stakes!

Why spend $500 on a mainboard? You could have easily saved 250-300 bucks there and gotten that 980 Ti instead. Rest of the build is great. Is that 3200 Mhz RAM?

Why not 980 Ti? because 200$ more? but its much better for the future.

Honestly don't care about PC gaming, no disrespect :D

Do a video on Star Citizen!

CookieCutter

I second Minesweeper, the anticlimax will be glorious.

Asking the real questions lol

Kasual7

Beautiful 😍

Kasual7

Tip for mouse: Logitech mx-518, I've never used a better gaming mouse. It's just perfect in your hand with exactly the right amount of buttons. No bloat, just practical.

Minesweeper

Emmettrn

Hitman, Ashes of Singularity would be graphic intensive recent games I am interested in taking a look at. Grim Dawn is also a good game I recommend playing. A very good gaming mouse is the Mionix Naos 7000, I definitely recommend it. If you want a good mechanical keyboard with silent switches, I'd say the Corsair Strafe RGB is a good but expensive choice.

Excellent point about assessing performance and i5/970. Cheers :)

I second this!

SuperAfroBoy

Hmm maybe I am lucky. For 8 years I have been using the same Razer Deathadder, Razer Destructor and Razer Lycosa.

Oh also, get the Steelseries Apex keyboard it's awesome. Mouse I'm on the search for a good one myself. Had a SteelSeries Kana and now a Razer Deathadder Chrome and not fully satisfied with either. The scroll wheel on my Deathadder is skippy and it's only been like 6 months since I bought it.

Curious as to why you'd get a GTX980 instead of 2 GTX 970 in SLi. Gaming in 4k? Get everyone on their laptops running the new Doom and frag the hell out of each other ;)

How about an RTS (a fast paced one, of course). I know that PC strategy games was kind of Matt's forte, but I'm sure the rest of you guys, and the viewers could have some fun with something like Helldivers or Homeworld. In any case I'm sure it will be quality watching.

Stream Trackmania Turbo, a criminally underrated game that flies under the radar due to small marketing budget. It will be hilarious to see 2 players driving the same car, lots of crashes and maybe even build the world's first EZA track.

Don't go advising switches, that's way too personal. And they probably will not all like it, so they need to either vote or take the one that's least offensive to most.

Or a live stream.

1v1 Hearthstone tournament. Random decks only. One player on a laptop the other on the new pc. Get everyone playing.

As for the first game, I suggest Vermintide. For the keyboard I recommend anything with MX Red switches. They feel great for me, but everybody is different...

Leif

This is looking hot!

Backlog Crusader

Maybe a little bit late but as a PC Gamer ever since I strongly recommend Logitech products. My G15 and G7 are still running and I never expected that to be the case. I already know what I will buy if those components give up service. Here is my advice for you guys. Mouse: G502 Proteus Spectrum and keyboard: G710, The Logitech mouspad G440 hardcover is also very good. If you do not like Logitech, I would go for Corsair products. just my two cents ;) P.S: good choice of components so far ;)

It would be fun to have a video of you building the desktop =D

This makes me want to build another PC, =( too bad can only do it once.

Hey you guys got the same graphics card as me! Woop!

Any chance of VR? Did any of the Allies order a Rift or Vive?

Half Life 2 in celebration. Avoid razer products. They may look and feel amazing, but they break down pretty quickly.

I just bought a Logitech G502 and absolutely love it. For the first game play csgo with fellow allies.

Nicholas Braley

So are you guys building it on stream on Monday?

Ben Metal

Too bad the new Doom is still over a month away, that would probably look amazing on that rig.

Derrick DesRoches

Well I recommend a Logitech G502 mouse along with any mechanical keyboard with CHERRY MX Brown Switches.

Michael Huber. Starcraft. Make. It. Happen.

Get chroma mouse and keyboard :D preeettyyy colourssssssss

Jasmine

Nice choices. This looks pretty close to my build actually. Wait, GTX 980... not a Ti? JK that's overkill if you're not going above 1080p.

Joseph Caruso

http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm 500watt recommended. They will be fine.

Impact93 (Jon)

What about the Planet Coaster Alpha :)

You may want to consider a higher power supply. With a GTX 980 you are going to be right on the edges of what that 750w can handle

6700k and a 980, nice

MUST BE NICE, and play Hyper light drifter, gorgeous game, souls gameplay and difficulty.

LiquidEnder

MUST BE NIIIIICE! PS: I Love ya <3

Any chance of getting a full list of parts posted?

Brandon Patton

There is only one true benchmark for a pc since 2007: Can it run Crysis on Max? Do it! And i'm talking Crysis 1 here, the newer ones are less demanding, ironicly.

This is just not true at all. For shame.

I am glad that you went with GTX980 instead of something like Titan X or ever 980Ti, which are unaffordable for 95% of PC gamers. That will let you assess real world performance and optimization of games that you will be testing. I'd go even cheaper with something like i5 and GTX970, but if this rig will be also used for video editing and rendering, getting better CPU and GPU was not a bad idea.

this should last you a year in the pc world lolz.... i wonder if you could of saved money by getting windows 7 on and just upgraded. best of luck

Must be nice! You definitely should play Minesweeper first, it will be a powerful statement.

Nice setup! Would love to see some Witcher 3 running on that beast

Rise of the Tomb Raider! :P And congrats guys!! Can't wait for Tuesday's stream.

Hesperus84

Solid setup, remember to overclock the 6700K. It simply demands it.

Amazing. Finally you can stream perfectly the most demanding of games. You guys should stream Zork with it :P

Looks super awesome! Unfortunately I'm one of those guys that knows nothing about computers but it all looks good and I'm excited for the Tuesday stream!

Stream Heroes of the Storm! It says so right on the box!

I think a 980 Ti would have been a better choice

Only 1 980? Not even a ti? Should have gotten two at least. But play either The Witcher 3 or Quantum Break.

Fire Safety

Looks great! Could you publish a full list of the parts and models? I'm particularly interested in the game capture stuff. It would also be cool if you could share with up the apps you use. I'm looking forward to Tuesday.

Great picks guys!

in regards to keyboard and mouse, its a prefrence.. if you plan on using the keyboard on streams then maybe stay away from mechanical, they are pretty noisy..

Build for me

Civ

The Witcher cranked should look pretty good. Rise of the Tomb Raider is beautiful, but it's also pretty well optimized. My 970 can run it max on a 1440p monitor. The Witcher is much more demanding.

Quantum break on the pc for the real test. No idea on the keyboard, whatever you like tbh.

Looks like great choices for the components. Congrats!

Isaac King

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a pretty intense test for a new PC, so I vote for that. Max it out and lets see how the new build handles it. <3

First buy/play: the witness.

CΓ©sar Villa

I'd love to see you guys try the Vive or Oculus. I assume some fan in LA has one you could borrow...

Sean Cornett

Overclock the CPU, run stresstest, show me the numbers. Mmmhhh numbers.

Niceeee. Stream some beast games like Red Alert 2.

Strap Michael P Huber into a good blast of DEVIL DAGGERS then trade off for some time rivalries.

Pretty

Why not spend a little bit more and get a 980ti for the improved performance?

looks like a solid choice of components.

DDR4. Compromised

Cougar 700k keyboard and the new wireless logitcech g900. So awesome.

Xcom 2

Das Keyboards are very good with no pointless flare.

Something very intensive graphically, like Ark.

Super3dcow

Zork

Keyboard = IBM Model M Mouse = Razr Death Adder, or Steel Series Sensei

I think Hyper Light Drifter would be a perfect candidate for you to play. :)

Otoshigami

Tuesday night plans locked in!

Worms Armageddon

A 'Hello Kitty Themed' Keyboard and Mouse.

I'm very happy with my Ducky Shine keyboard, and I agree that black or red switches are definitely the way to go.

Hyper Light Drifter or XCOM2

Get a Saitek X52 and play Elite: Dangerous! I have a feeling Jones might like it ;)

Volker Bach

Play XCOM2

Just as long as you get a keyboard with either black or red switches, I'm cool with that. Adding on to Matthias comment about left handers, Steelseries mice are generally ambidextrous in design, and they're pretty functional.

Nice choice so far, the Keyboard/Mouse question comes down to preference. I would go for something mechanical in the keyboard department. They are sturdy with great longevity and a nice feel to them. Check out "Das Keyboard Professional 4" or the "Blackwidow Chroma". Picking the right mouse is even harder, for you i would go with a wired one. Also look at the design, if one of you is left handed you should refrain from most designs who are right handed only (Most of Logitech) If you need more info just let me know, im happy to provide more :-)

GOTY 2014 of course!

Olivier

DOOM BETA! :)

Can't wait to watch you guys build this beast!

Like christmas for every gamer

It would be interesting to see Quantum Break on PC.

Joshua Turner

lol that's the case I went with when I built my PC. It really is a great design.

Gerred Evatt

How many of you guys building this? There could be too many cooks in the kitchen for it to run smoothly, lmao.

There's only one right choice. Oregon Trail.

pumped for this. I haven't built a pc so interested to see how the process goes

I love building my own PCs. What PC case is that? I wish I could've recommended a Fractal Design R5 before you bit the bullet :P

Nice! All good choices there.

Very good build, let Huber play Daying light and compare it with the PS4 version !

I'm salivating because how good that is. how much was that?

Good specs, but you might want to use another OS or use W10 premium, otherwise W10 will force it's updates randomly and shut down your computer at random times

Some great hardware choices. Guessing the RAM is 2x8GB - 3200MHz sticks?

You should play a bunch of 2D platformers out of spite lol

Oscar Magana

Hyper Light Drifter! Play Hyper Light Drifter!!!

TracerO

Looking pretty good.

Tharaxis

Almost the same as my work computer except you're missing the m.2 pcie drive ;)

David Warren

Counter Strike, Day of Defeat, or X Wing vs Tie Fighter!!! Get a flight stick though. :)

Crysis or the witcher 3 should be good graphical benchmarks for your new pc

Awesome. It's been great watching you guys create this super cool things that's all yours. Loving all the content. Keep up the awesome work!

Josh in Tampa

This machine is an amalgamation of everyone's support and your efforts! Play Witcher 3, no games look better than the Witcher 3!

Must be Nice! Gotta play Crysis one! Does it run Crysis?

Eduardo

Mmmm, love it. Reminds me when I got all my parts it's like Christmas.

You deserve all the love guys!! Congratulations for a very successful patreon. More power and success for the future and beyond. Proud to be an Easy Ally!!

Angelo Torres

Sweet rig in the making. It may not tax it too much, but my vote is for Hyper Light Drifter.

Solid Rig. DOOM BETA!

Impact93 (Jon)

Hopefully this thing can run crysis

Dave Pallas

hyper light drifter?

sam

You guys should decide on a keyboard based on personal preference, but I wholeheartedly recommend the Razer DeathAdder for a mouse. By the way, is that a Fractal case I see? Excellent choices all around. My PC has a lot of the same parts.

FINALLY!

G.Sith

Doom beta, Huber
