RJ Rambles about being sick

Hey everybody. I have not been doing well the past few days. Started on Thursday after I came back from the gym. I started getting a tickle in the back of my throat and feeling tired. I knew I was getting sick immediately and started taking medicine to try to fight it.

But over the next few days, I've fully succumbed to whatever this is. Flu, COVID, Upper respiratory infection, Strep? Unsure. Coughing like crazy, some fever, no energy, voice gone, light-headed.

It's so frustrating, because I announced the release dates for the Update, then immediately get so sick that I've had a hard time working on it. I don't want to turn around and delay the release now. But I'm not as confident as I usually am in the state of the game that I'll be sending to the Alpha testers at the end of the week.

I'm sure we'll still get everything fixed up and it'll be fine. Just a little more stress than usual.

Yesterday, I worked for about two hours. Then I went and lied on the couch for the rest of the day, occasionally napping, but also started playing Ys 8. I'd only ever played the first Ys game before, and didn't much care for it, but the series is so well loved, I wanted to give it a chance. Also 8 and 9 are available for free on Playstation Plus. Apparently Ys 8 is a lot of people's favorite in the whole series and I can see why. I spent like 7 hours playing it yesterday and I loved every minute of it. It's a great game. Looking forward to checking out the whole series at some point.

That's it for me. Hoping to be over this stuff soon. Last night was rough. Feels like it took a few days for the sickness to really sit in, and hopefully last night was the peak and it'll get better from here.
