You think you know, until you donβt.
I had read every inscription carved into the box we uncovered at the dig-site. It was all a bunch of dedications and supplications to one goddess or another! The necklace was clearly a gift, thrown into the temple pit as a sacrifice. Harmless.
So, I put it on.
I immediately fell to the ground, paralyzed in agony as my body boiled under itβs magic. Bones shattered and mended again and again, flesh stretched and contracted. My body mass plummeted and I vomited out the excess. When I found my voice, my screams were in a voice unknown to me.
The sacrifice wasnβt the necklace. The sacrifice was the manhood of any man who dared wear it. In the ancient world I would now be a priestess, today I am impossible. A woman who was once a man, I have no Identity and no proof.
Unless you want to try this necklace onβ¦.
