Lenny's Mod Loader March Update

In the past few weeks we have not only been busy working on RDRFR which has already seen eight new builds since the first testing version, but also added a new feature to Lenny's Mod Loader that makes changing textures even easier!

You can now use image files such as .png or .jpg as well as DirectX textures (.dds) directly to replace textures in mods that are loaded via LML. This means you no longer need OpenIV to edit a file's textures nor need to worry about where it is located. On game start, LML will scan all mods for texture replacements and update your files accordingly (see screenshot) before launching the game. These new "merged" texture files will then be used by the game and include your changes without you ever touching the actual files! The process is only required once per file and is then cached on the next game start.

An example of how this works in an install.xml (replacing the "wion" texture in all files called " camarorb"):

 <TextureReplacement>stream/camarorb@wion.bmp</TextureReplacement>

We hope you will enjoy this new feature and believe it will make releasing texture packs for already existing mods much easier as you no longer need to ship the actual .yft/ytds (which often times is not permitted by the license) but can just include your textures and LML will merge them at game start.

The new version will be made available to our Insiders exclusively in the next few days.
