It's that time of year again when GTA V is the beneficiary of another big update that refocuses many eyes on the game. Of course, each new version of GTA V also requires us to update LSPDFR to be compatible with it, so we obviously spend quite a bit of time ourselves pouring through the update and seeing what's new.
Unlike previous updates for GTA V which are often focused around stupidly overpowered flying bikes of mega-death, this one is quite interesting. The new heist is quite different to what we've seen before from Rockstar and is unique in that you can select one of three approaches: loud, sneaky or "The Big Con". The Big Con, or "subterfuge" as Lester excitedly calls it revolves mainly around using tricks and disguises to conduct the robbery and to this end, Rockstar have added a bunch of new police-related outfits for the GTA Online player characters that we use in LSPDFR 0.4. This is a nice touch, and we're updating LSPDFR accordingly to add FIB, NOOSE and Prison Guard uniforms.
So, on the topic of updating LSPDFR, as well as adding these new outfits, I also had a dig around to see if there was anything else that we could include in this minor update and stumbled across some old code to detain a suspect in a police car with slick animations, that we hadn't quite perfected and had shelved for later.
A couple of days later, and here's the result. We hope it'll make for a much more immersive way to detain suspects in cruisers, as well as be generally easier to use than manually opening the doors.
Take a look and tell us what you think.
