2023-12-02 19:31:19 +0000 UTCyes indeed and lifting that intake out and especially back in requires the strength of Hercules or a year of lifting weights while on illegal steroids. I have never had to pull an FE intake with the engine in the car but would unbolt the hood and use a cherry picker if the situation would arise. In contrast it's easy to swap the intake on Y-blocks. cheers

2023-11-06 19:50:45 +0000 UTCI have had great luck with shoe goo as mentioned earlier. your needing to remove the oil pickup tube before the pan would drop reminded me of a similar situation on ford FE engines where I could not drop the pan without first reaching into that little gap and unbolting the oil pump dropping it and the distributer drive shaft down into the pan. getting it back together was a serious challenge. cheers

2023-11-06 00:56:47 +0000 UTCI wear Brooks Cascadia runners. Super comfortable and have stood up to the abuse I throw at them at work. The waterproof Gore-Tex model is out of this world. I wipe them down with hospital strength disinfectants, wear them around the fire hall doing services on the trucks and they just keep coming back for more. I'm on my 4th set. A good set of New Balance used to last me 6 months, my current set of cascadias are going on 2 years and have one small oil stain.
