Behind the Curtains of a YouTube Channel

You may have watched our recent discussion with LW Ghost about the IATSE strike that could be coming to Hollywood by August. What you may not have noticed is that we purposefully attempted to prove a point in the video. All of our "photos" that panned of strikes, workers in Hollywood and production sets... they were all made by AI. Each image took less than 30 seconds to generate. This was intentional to prove the point that IATSE is facing an existential crisis from AI.

Shared with you here are two of the images we used, before we ran them through an additional filter for realism. Both were generated by DALL-E 3 in less than 30 seconds.

AI art doesn't bother me when it comes to small businesses or youtube when you need or are looking to get a product out asap and don't have time to wait for an artist to make something for you. And not everyone can afford to hire a graphics artist or afford to wait. Now for big Hollywood, with big corporate? Thats a different story. I refuse to hate on anyone using AI that is basically on a blue collard income and just trying to make some extra gas or grocery money on the side. Hiring an artist is a luxury not everyone can afford. Hollywood on the other hand CAN afford to hire real artists!

But what will it look like in two years? That's what the IATSE has to think about.

Agree with Michelle C it seems lifeless! to me and not as soft as real pictures look, I will pass on it.

Bebop

Doesn't look real to me.

Salvador Dali art has more heart and realism.

Larry McClure

Can’t be AI art. The guy has the right number of fingers.

Chris Gorman

I'm developing a distaste for AI art. The more I see, the more samey samey it looks to me. Unreal, basically.
