With immediate effect, Sean Bailey, the luminary force behind Walt Disney's metamorphosis of their animation vault into a colossal live-action film empire, bids adieu after an illustrious tenure of fifteen years behind the magic. David Greenbaum, the co-president of Searchlight, steps in as the replacement. He has a huge hurdle ahead of him; now he has to figure out how to resolve a half-billion-dollar stinker in Snow White next year.

For Bailey, it is a terrifically sad way to end a run of once-great remakes (financially). Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin, and more, were all mega hits economically. But once they went woke... well, you know the saying. And in Hollywood, whether you played the game they way they asked or not, it's always "what have you done for me lately."
