Tiana's Bayou Adventure Rumored to Open Unfinished
Added 2024-04-19 14:15:16 +0000 UTCI thought it would be nice to share the full message I received from a highly-placed Disney World source who volunteered the following information regarding Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Please not that this is NOT the same source telling me they may open the ride on Juneteenth (June 19th) of this year:

cannot confirm opening date, but the media part is real
the attraction's opening is being rushed. They need to capture the summer crowds. Previews will be compressed and neither previews nor opening day will all the animatronics be installed
Most of them should be but I've been hearing there will parts of scenes that are incomplete. Not walls or anything like that, just empty areas they add stuff to in the coming months
For example, when Frozen opened, there was a fountain missing in the Olaf's Skating scene that was added after the ride opened because it wasn't ready in time
i am guessing on the extent to which and what won't be ready in time, I assume it's one or more of the animatronics since they've been having supply chain problems with the costumes however im asking someone right now
At least one Louis is installed at MK as are most of the tianas ive seen pics
the critters are mostly statues with projected eyes

Essentially, Disney is preparing to open an unfinished ride because they are so concerned that the ride is an upcoming failure. Having it be "unfinished" allows them to say it will be even better in the months to come. Releasing it on Juneteenth provides additional cover for Disney. They want to make it as difficult as possible for people to be critical of them destroying Splash Mountain and failing to create a great ride to replace it.
For shame.
