Disney Declared to Have Foundational Issues Ahead of Vote
Added 2024-03-29 19:58:10 +0000 UTCThings keep getting zanier as we race towards the finish line for the Disney Board Vote and the Shareholders Meeting. While I'm not here to give anyone financial advice, I felt it important to pass on the latest KO punch Disney has received from Seeking Alpha. It seems like there's an absolute avalanche of institutional narrative switch going on right now. It's amazing to see.
According to Seeking Alpha, they have found the following summarized issues that draw questions to Bob Iger's long-term Disney plans:
Disney+ subscriber growth has plateaued, indicating a potential problem with the content library and a lack of new releases.
The higher churn rate and lack of original shows on Disney+ compared to Netflix contribute to the subscriber growth issues.
Disney's financial success relies heavily on Disney+, but the current strategy may not be sustainable for long-term growth. Investors should be cautious.

These are points I have been making for the past year, but they are particularly amazing to see now appearing in some of the biggest financial sites on the web. What shocks me more is how quickly things turned. And that seems to indicate to me an effort to get ahead of the vote. Even the institutions want to be on the right side of the voters. Whatever happens on Wednesday, I don't believe Disney ever expected Peltz to be this close and the various major players to switch sides so fast.
Incredible.
Wishing all of you a very Happy Easter and Meaningful Passover. We'll talk soon again...

Disney needs to be broken up. Monopolies never work. Sure you may go past go and collect $100 a couple of times; but eventually you land on someone else boardwalk and have to pay or go to jail.
