Sweet Baby Defenders Step Up Rhetoric to Dangerous Levels

A games pundit backed by UK government funds and appearing on the BBC is making some very incendiary remarks. Jules Hardy is claiming that she wants to "purge the hate" from gamers who essentially disagree with Sweet Baby. That's couched in the idea that a toxic contingency of gamers just won't evolve with the rest of society. It's far more aligned with the idea -- in reality -- that significant parts of society have a fundamental disagreement with intersectional tribalism and DEI/ESG agendas. If you're in that camp that wishes for the "I have a dream" future envisioned by MLK Jr, prepare to be purged.
This is another increase in the language as both sides take aim at winning the culture war in the gaming industry. Unfortunately, one side seems well-attuned to destructionism as we have seen with the comics industry. There aren't many comic books doing well outside of the Rippaverse; and that's because the entire industry was hijacked by a quasi-religious movement that doesn't believe in markets, free agency, individuals and/or propaganda-free narrative. As a result, cratering the industry was just a worthy sacrifice to those who never really loved it in the first place. So too they see the gaming industry -- except it is hundreds of times larger and thus more is at stake.

But talking about "purging" the opposing side and/or their views is the type of language one expects out of despots and tyrants. Perhaps there's reason for that. It is why we must remain ever-vigilant in our efforts to simply state facts and tell the truth. It's the antidote to chaos; unfortunately it seems chaos and ruin are what some of these individuals want. After all, they see the world as so intrinsically desecrated that they want to tear industries down to rubble so they can reenvision them as they see fit.
There's always a utopia just at the end of every collapse. Right?
