Hourly Comics Day

Finally, for maybe (?) the first time ever, I successfully accomplished an entire Hourly Comics Day!  In the past I recall starting two or three panels, and then just having to drop the whole thing.

And now I remember why: it's time consuming! You spend 30-40 minutes doing stuff to write about, and then the other nearly-half of an hour recording it on paper.

So I didn't get much in the way of everyday work done yesterday, but here's a collection of the little comics I made. :)

As always, I'll share my figure drawing with $5+ patrons shortly! *edit!* Just posted it: here they are!

I've kept my surname and it's a constant struggle. I mostly-jokingly asked my husband last week if he'd be willing to take my name to make things easier going forward.

Emelin Ringuette

I first discovered Lucy Stone shortly after our wedding. My husband and I both took both last names, and THAT is apparently a mortal sin to some, "making" a man change his name! It was his suggestion and a joint decision we both loved--minus those who still "oops, forgot" after over a decade... I don't know how they ever managed to remember our first names before we graduated from high school!

Yes, the whole surname thing is baffling/frustrating. As is the inclusive language backsliding that's been going on for the past several years. And now I want to draw an American women's rights activist. I enjoyed every hour's panels, but the last one reminds me of our kitty standing on her back legs by my side of the bed, peeking at me - willing me to turn off the light so she can jump up and settle between us. I will henceforth "hear" her: "off. now. chop chop."

Loved, thanks :)

That last panel....."chop chop!" You are the supreme ruler of the supportive, extra special details! That's what I love about your work. When you do comics, those panels are eye-candy at times.

Julie Howard

This is wonderful! You know I love all your art, but it's great to see you doing comics again. Thanks for giving us a little peak into the life of Danielle.

Terry Peterson

I really enjoyed these. Thanks for showing us some panels of your sweet life and for making us smile in these super dark times. (Also, deli meat and cheese wrapsβ€”well, in my case, vegan versions of thoseβ€”is a fantastic and tasty snack! A+! Haha.) I hope the fundraiser goes super well.

Ah ha ha ha...heh. ^^; Now I feel awkward about being happy about getting like four lines inked on an illustration yesterday. ^^; (Nah, it's all good. I know what I'm dealing with right now, so it was good to just get *something* done, art-wise.) Oh, and I also want that shower curtain, so if you ever find out it exists, share the link, please? :3
