2024-11-17 23:06:22 +0000 UTCWeirdly, this movie credits the same character designer as all the the other anime but the look is clearly based on the manga of the same name. The woman who drew it didn't just do this "side story" but also the general manga adaptation of LotGH in 1986, so before any anime was made. Meaning these designs easily could've been chosen for the main OVA series. I wonder if that would've affected the reputation and legacy of it, because the more neutral and "realistic" designs we all know do fit the story better. Not to mention the totally different voice cast, no idea why they did that. Eh, the only part that made this almost worth it for me was the finale and the cool ways they killed the villains. Still pretty much pointless.
