Health Update - August 2023

(Dianna's editor posting) Dianna is currently suffering from a multi-week crash. It's been over a year since she got sick and she will still crash from any minor mental or physical stress. These crashes are the result from her severe MCAS and ME/CFS.

I started helping Kyle and Dianna full-time here a couple months ago, and it's surreal to see her state. I think when you're not around it, it's easy for the time to pass, or to assume the time goes by relatively easy from her bedroom. But it doesn't.

Dianna still doesn't consume anything that is potentially overstimulating for her mind. She doesn't watch movies, read books, or listen to music. She's able to speak more throughout the day than she used to, and she develops little funny sentences or short songs in her head. But other than that, you're looking at it. These pictures are the exact place she has been laying since January, unable to even get up and use the bathroom.

This disease is slow, very slow. Some weeks are worse than others...

This sounds crazy but there is a song called “weightless” that is suppose to let your brain relax (google “most relaxing song” its a science thing not woo woo ;). Won’t fix her but might be helpful for relaxing her brain and body. Helps me a lot when I have a migraine

Mellow_mel

🥹 we mis you! Rest much and we will keep the light on! ❤️

Mark Laube

Hang in there, Diana! We miss you. You’ve done so much for science, it’s only right that science figures this one out. It owes you one.

Are the symptoms that she's currently experiencing due to an ongoing fight with the virus/bacteria, or is it just the immune system dealing with the aftermath of COVID?

Nathan Garff

So undeserving. All prayers, all hopes for some means of an understimulating support to passage the time. No books, no music, no movies just kills me.

Chad Leeper

Diana has been in my prayers often and I think of her, but forgot I've got Patreon and now see she is getting better 🤗 and much Love is pouring in from many who care 😘

NoBaloney Mahoney

hang in there Diana! you got this! Don't let that black hole suck you in, just ride that accretion disk and let it fling you right out and back home!

RattyRat

I hope she gets well better so that she can to back to doing her wonderful videos.

Luis Villanueva

Thinking of Dianna a lot today as I do physics experiments with my grandkids. Wishing you could be here Dianna as I’m sure you’re a much better and more fun teacher. I supplement what we’re doing with activities I learn from you. Get well soon. The kids and I love you.

Jean

New Microwave here. My heart goes out to all. I hope Diana can find comfort. Those who care for her every day, you are heroes.

CaseyAEC

I wish that I could make this illness, just go away. Get well soon,Diana.

Jonathan Hart

Seems wise to do it wow cost always falling and obviously it would be huge publicity, awareness PARTICULARLY if something important was found however defined wow I presume 23andme is upgrading to it so I’ll mention it to Wojcicki in case no one else has already…♾🩺 to be clear I don’t have special contact information for her so I just did TwitterX and IG

Nicholas Thompson

It really forces all of us to reckon with what comes for all of us eventually—if we are *lucky* we will live long enough to become slower, acquire aches, pains, confusion, frailty, disability, and illness. But to see the darkness come early for our bright lights is insupportable.

Socratica Studios

Is there.... any company out there willing to do a full genomic sequencing? Realizing the data point is 1.... but still, she's pretty famous in the youtube world. I'd love to see Destin from SmarterEveryDay cover this, but it might even be too controversial- Alabama isn't known for it's depth of understanding. It's agony watching her suffer, but I can't even imagine living it.

Jason Hirsch

This is terrifying and heartbreaking. I'm praying regularly for her to get healthy and for there to be a cure for this illness. I'm so very sorry that she is dealing with this. I can't imagine the level of sadness she must have at not being able to do the things she loves. I'm glad she's able to talk (and sing!) and she continues to inspire us, and that's something extraordinary. Many blessings and much strength to her. <3

Jackie Donnelly

Thank you for the update. I'm uplifted to know that Dianna is talking a little more than before. While I know that overstimulation is a big challenge for her, I recently saw another article on the fascia and how important it is to keep the fascia motile, and lying in bed all the time must be awful for the health of the fascia, so I'm sharing an article on it: << https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg25433861-200-fascia-the-long-overlooked-tissue-that-shapes-your-health/?utm_source=nsonb-trial&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nsonb%20trial_editorialhighlights_email5_ser_int%202023-08-15&utm_term=NSREN_trialist%20onboarding%20effort%205%20active Health Fascia: The long-overlooked tissue that shapes your health The connective tissue that surrounds your muscles and organs, known as fascia, has always been ignored – but new insights suggest it holds the key to tackling chronic pain and immune dysfunction >> I'd suggest seeking a professional in fascia massage. Even if one can't come to Dianna's home, perhaps adding a stop to the fascia specialist's office, on a day that Dianna has to leave the house anyway, would lead to a shorter rather than a longer subsequent crash. Presumably the specialist could be extra gentle at first, and/or target only specific parts of the fascia, to ease Dianna's body back to health. I wish there was more that I could do to help, besides just sharing knowledge. I'm so glad that Dianna has a couple of people there in person to care for her. I hope she knows how much many of us are hoping that she'll heal, sooner rather than later. Dianna is much cared about, I'd even say treasured.

Jean-Philippe Suter

Please let her know that I am praying for recovery.

David Jeroslow

I know there's a hurricane in town, but it's been downgraded to a tropical storm. Maybe some flooding if you're in a really flat area, but really it should be more bark than bite. So long you keep the rain out, things will be fine. It will probably be a lot of audio stimulation though.

Dalbunosky

Praying for her recovery.. We miss you Dianna!

Justin Chin

What is a crash?

Jim DeArras

Keeping Diana, Kyle, and all of you helping her in our thoughts ♥

Autoimmune is terrible. My scientist daughter dealing with it for over decade and it is so random how it presents itself. What works today, won't tomorrow. So debilitating for once vibrant people! Miss all of you.

CTOCSE8

Thank you for the updates. Praying for you.

Trang Nguyen

Praying for you Diana.🙏

Ed Bartkiewicz

Thank you for the updates on Diana. Obviously there's nothing that can be said to make things any less hard for you all, but we are all out here around the world rooting for every minor step of improvement we can get :)

Christopher Oldham

Keep fighting young lady, you are still in our thoughts.

Praying for her recovery

Philip Brown

Thanks to everyone taking care of Dianna. I trust that she is under regular medical supervision and she is getting proper nutrition to keep her strength. Praying for her every day. God bless.

Steve Ollo

I don’t have any words that are adequate enough for you. Thinking of you and praying for your recovery. ❤️

Calvi69$

You are in our thoughts every day, and will be waiting for the day you return.

Joseph Murphy

So heartbreaking! Any news on potential new treatments?

Bill Baker

When I had automimmune brain lesions in 2022 my vision and balance were really messed up so I spent a lot of time lying down with my eyes closed. I created all sorts of adventures in my head. One time I travelled step-by-step in my head from my front door to Disneyland and spent hours imagining every detail as I remembered it from my last visit there. I've also done that in my many MRI's. Diana's mind is so vibrant and powerful, I believe she will overcome this terrible autoimmune assault on her body. Recovery will take a long time, but if a dolt like me can get through it, she certainly can.

Ame Stanko

My heart breaks for Dianna, Kyle and you. I pray that she makes a full and complete recovery quickly.

Glen

We are thinking of you everyday. Only positive thoughts. Need to get back to physics! Love to the family!

David Tyler

Already one year... I still remember that video from the hotel in Edinburgh, just married, just started your Scottish tour... We watched your videos, we learnt from you, you made me eager to teach science in a funny and entertaining way to my little nieces... Already one year but just one year: you will recover, you will enjoy life with Kyle, with your colleagues, your friends, and you will be as great as you have always been. Hang in there, Dianna!!! And a big hug to Kyle and the team!!! Greetings from Europe!

Alberto Segovia

I hope she knows how many of us are pulling for her and wish her to be fully recovered ASAP. Thank you for the updates.

Robert Keefer

The story of support around her is heart warming, when she emerges from this state I’m sure she will have so many questions both mundane and profound. I look forward to hearing them. ❤️

Dear Dianna, having seen your presence on FB and YouTube I am amazed by your informative and entertaining vids. I very much hope and pray you live to recover your health and your life. 🥲

482darkknight

Hang in there, Dianna. Your life is still precious.

Paul Kassebaum

Okay. I understand. But look at why I'm saying what I say. I'm trying to give hope by means of collecting data, and you say it's not productive. But that is science. Collecting data and connecting the dots. There is no such thing as "arbitrary". Every effect has a specific cause. And then in the next paragraphs you say you shouldn't stop searching for a treatment, which is exactly what the general gist of almost all my comments on all posts on this patreon have been, including this one. And there's always someone like you that takes one remark about over-exertion out of context. Please read between the lines. I'm not a doctor and not offering medical advice. I'm only trying to *test* limits. You may not like the word push, then use the word test. But if you're under any illusion that no effort will be required in this endeavour of getting back to good health, be it physical or mental or intellectual, then I don't know how you've been able to solve any of your own problems. Did it not require effort of some kind?Medicine is not magic. Trial and error, and calculated risk is the only way out of any situation. You can't be too afraid of failing. And you guys always come along and justify a stance where apparently you don't need to try. Just what... wait around for treatment? Other people will take the risks. Other people will do the work. Someone will come and save you. No one will save you, especially for diseases that are so different from person to person. Rest is obviously important, but crashes are related to nervous systems. So hope and happiness and calmness are it would seem important to not crash. Hope can only be sustainably found when you reasonably understand there is hope. Collecting data, being proactive in determining your own fate, is a reasonable giver of hope. I know what it's like to feel overwhelmed. And I won't let your fears get in your own way. Fighting is the only way out. Perhaps after enough rest you'll see. But if it had not been clear enough, obviously to not butt your head against a course of action if it leads to failure. Don't kill yourself trying. Much love, to Di, and to you. ❤

Kieran Le Cam

Our hearts are breaking for Dianna. We just want her to regain the energetic, vibrant body that harbors her celestial, limitless, enlightened spirit.

LouSiegel

Dianna has such incredible will to recover. I am heartbroken that she is going through this, but in awe of her tenacity.

Alana Casey

Im glad she is till alive;i hope she has the most happy dreams. I wish healing for you,Diana. Carry on.

Jonathan Hart

This is horrendous and it breaks my heart to see. Obviously, the physical aspect of it is awful but to see someone with an incredibly active mind and intellect like her forced to not use it is absolutely crushing.

Andy Weir

thank you for your reply! i guess the difference is hard to tell from the outside.

Thomas Herzog

Having had ME/CFS for decades, I think I can answer your question. Although it's certainly true that severe muscle deterioration tends to set in over time due to lack of activity, this is actually quite different from the symptoms of severe ME/CFS, as people who have had this disease can confirm. When the symptoms of severe ME/CFS begin to lift, this is very noticeable, even if the body is too weak to move. At that point, physical therapy, starting very gently, can be used to help restore the patient to health. If they are truly better, then starting gently like that will not cause any crashes.

Steve Zimmerman

Kieran, what you say may be quite reasonable for many illnesses, but it is quite disastrous for something like severe ME/CFS. In ME/CFS, the effects of crashes tend to accumulate, especially if they occur close together, so the last thing you want to do is push the envelope. To the contrary, a widely accepted rule of thumb is never to do more than 50% of what you think you're capable of doing. Crashes can come out of nowhere and last arbitrary amounts of time, and unless you're aware of a specific overexertion that caused them, trying to connect them to any particular trigger is generally not productive. The one thing that crashes do indicate is that more rest is needed. As for fighting to stay awake, this will definitely make things worse, especially for someone as ill as Diana. Fighting to do anything, mental or physical, is overexertion. The late Dr. Paul Cheney, who was one of the first doctors to recognize and treat ME/CFS in the US, and who became one of the leading experts on the disease, noticed that out of his very large number of patients, occasionally some would end up in a coma for unrelated reasons. When they came out of their coma, their ME/CFS was inevitably better. Current research over the last few years has also indicated that ME/CFS involves the body's going into a reduced metabolic state, and trying to force it out of this state just makes things worse. There are various treatments that can help, though, and it sounds to me that Diana and her caregivers have done an extraordinary job learning about this illness (as well as MCAS), and that the approach they are taking is a very wise one. Diana, you have my deepest sympathies. I myself have been fighting ME/CFS (and to a much lesser extent, MCAS) for the last 25 years. Although I have never been as ill as you, I have been housebound for almost all this time, and bedbound for parts of it. Nevertheless, I think that the optimism expressed here by many people is not at all misplaced. By continually trying out new treatments, I finally found some that work for me (this disease is so unique to each individual!), and recently I have been doing better than I have in years. I also have known a number of people much sicker than I who have returned to full health or very close to it once they found the treatments they needed. So keep hanging in there - there is a way out. ❤️

Steve Zimmerman

We Who Carry The Light, are sending Dianna Healing Love.

Dr Andy Hill

I'm so sorry. Your pictures remind me of when I was in your place. Even after almost a year of recovery, I still need a day or two of rest, mostly in bed, if I walk to the store, or do too much in a day. But the too much brain stimulation is mostly all gone. You'll make it, Diana. All this time and pain will be forgotten. Love to you and all your family and friends.

Mary Mc

Perhaps we have a seer among us :) ❤

Kieran Le Cam

Very pertinent comment, in my opinion. Body and mind are connected, (mind is a part ofthe body...) take care of the mind, and you give less ammunition for the body to struggle. And vice versa of course. I really appreciate your comment.

Kieran Le Cam

I suspect that the crashing process may be necessary to teach the body to grapple with the condition. That when in good health you give all you got till you're tired, and have to rest, may be analogous to finding the limits of your long covid, and slowly pushing them back. Fight to stay awake as long as possible, for as few crashes as possible, that last the least amount of time. Measure the frequency and duration of the crashes, and record what activity caused them. Then over time, check if similar activities cause as many crashes, if you're not already doing so. Sometimes you can't measure progress because it s so small, and so you can get desperate, thinking no progress is happening at all, but if you're **meticulous** about it, you may find there is a small barely perceptible progress that will help you to have hope, and help you fight on. Keep fighting guys! Give yourselves the tools to do so! Much love ❤

Kieran Le Cam

My heart goes out to Dianna and the people supporting her, I hope you get better :)

please stay strong! hoping for the best 🙏

Mark Farber

Kyle, is there anything I can do from across the world that can help you?

Sasha Rosen

please take care.

Hitoshi Yamauchi

I suffer with Fibromyalgia, which is similar to CFS/ME, so my heart goes out to Diana. She's got it much worse than I do, as I can still get around the house usually, and even go out on good days. I wouldn't wish this on anyone, especially not someone as lively and wonderful as Diana. She's got all my best wishes and hopes that she improves, or even better recovers soon ♥♥

Baz Poulton

It breaks my heart seeing Diana like this, but it is so important that people remain conscious of how terrible long COVID can be... My sister also suffers from this, although her symptoms are way milder, most days she can go about her life with no issues, but out of the blue, she crashes and has respiratory crisis that send her right to the hospital... and nobody knows what to do, but waiting for the storm to pass... Stay strong guys, thanks for taking care of Diana and sharing with us. All our love and support to you.

Enderbeats

Sending Dianna soooo much love.

Steven Gatlin

i have a question: how would you know if diana got better? she has been immobilized for so long that the mental and physical deterioration from the bedrest alone would be practically identical to her current state. people seriously underestimate what prolonged immobilization does to the human mind and body. there is simply no way to will yourself to get out of bed when you have to expend all your willpower to just get your arm from under the cover to over the cover which is pretty much it for the rest of the day.

Thomas Herzog

You are fantastic! Having friends/husband like you shows what great persons you are, and what extraordinary person Dianna is!!!

Marco Anello

I've seen headlines lately of doctors saying you can "ignore COVID now." I will never understand how anyone can say such a thing when Dianna and so many others are trapped in limbo. We keep you in our thoughts daily, and will fight from out here for continued awareness. Peace and Love from Kim & Michael

Hugs to you Sweetie (I'm a Grandma, not being creepy here :-)

Dev Chilson

You're a fighter Dianna. Keep hanging in there. Just know that there are an uncountable number of people pulling for you. Don't ever give up.

tbame

Sending much love 💗 One moment at a time. Keep strong even if that means all you can do is rest. Dealing with long covid myself and understand those days all you can do is hunker down in bed, rest, and wait. Dianna has been a source of strength for so many suffering along side her. So glad she had such a loving support group, both direct and indirect 🌎🌍🌏

Savy M

Thanks for the updates. It's meaning full and I appreciate it.

Tammy Meier

I can't even imagine what this is link. Good luck Dianna!

Dawson Lewis

I'm not alone when I say we're praying for you Dianna. We need you, the whole world needs you. Thinking of you and Kyle. Many thanks to your mom, sister and others caring for you.

goroberts56 .

Writing from the hospital. I can relate to some of this. I've been mostly bedridden for the last few years due to a chronic pain/wound condition along with being a paraplegic. So, I can understand the situation from both sides: myself and seeing the helplessness on other people's faces as they help me. I also have a very active mind that likes to work on/fix and learn new things. Again, I can understand what it's like having to miss out on those experiences, especially if they are just out of reach. But take heart in the fact that you are young and strong of mind and will. I still look forward to each and every day, despite my pain. Keep exercising your mind as much as you are able. As long as you can do that, it will be a rebuke against entropy. As long as your mind can experience this wonderful universe, it is a gift to be alive and with those that you love and who love you. And, yes, keep making funny little songs. That's the secret. 😉

Bryan Cybershaman(X) Logie

From someone who studies chronic pain conditions - it will get better. It may seem like it takes forever, but it absolutely does get better!! Fibromyalgia is similar to ME/CFS, so if treatment hits a standstill, consider looking into those support groups and treatments as well. You got this!!

Caitlin

Sending love 💕

Rowan Carlson

I think about you. The big, ongoing challenge. The little sweet moments. Endurance. Minor victories. Nagging unanswered questions. Smiles from friends and relatives. Hope. You are thought of, and loved. Prayed for. The eternal in all of us. Best wishes to you!

McLen

You are VERY much present in my mind and will be a frequent visitor in my classroom this year with the mountain of wonderful physics ponderings, demonstrations, and explorations you have created. My AP Physics 1 class especially will be gleaming in gratitude for your concise and thoughtful approaches. Be well and may your body respond to all the joy and love being sent your way <3

Jeff Hopper

I’m so sorry to hear this. My thoughts are with you Dianna and hope you have a speedy recovery. This disease seems wicked and cruel 😢

Stephen F

Fellow young Long Hauler, I was bedridden for months last year. Still sick, disabled, suffering. I am holding Diana and her crew in my thoughts every day. Hardest test of patience in our lives. Thank you for being there for her. If we can send meals (or nuts!) please let us know 🙏🏻💙

Centralperk

Life can be cruel. It's sad that someone who's so vibrant with so much to give the world gets sidelined with something so senseless. We're all still here rooting for you to get better because the world needs your infectious energy :)

Robert Evans

I certainly hope there is some serious research going into finding some kind of treatment or cure for this... Best of Luck!

Dale Allen Platt

Thank you, both of you (and everyone else involved), for taking such good care of Dianna: you are heroes. All the love to you all.

Anya and Michael Scarpa

Dianna's story inspires me to keep protecting myself and others against covid as best I can. Thank you for sharing it with us, and I hope she can see some improvement for her own sake.

Aldona Dye

Kyle and Levi asked us a while back to refrain from medical advice, but unfortunately Long Covid, MCAS, MECFS patients have to be very careful what they take bc it can overload their sensitive nervous systems and cause crashes (speaking from experience). This is a much more serious illness than a vitamin. 🙏🏻💙

Centralperk

Kyle and Levi requested a while back for us to refrain from giving medical advice. But as someone with Long Covid & MECFS, I can share some context that unfortunately outside is just far too bright, temp fluctuations, breezes, sound, etc for many people to handle - the sensory overload to your nervous system can cause a crash. Infrared is an option for some people, but not a significant treatment really. Plus, it can cause a crash to your nervous system for a while as you build up tolerance to minutes, so I’d think she is too weak for this right now. 🙏🏻💙

Centralperk

I hope they find something that improves your quality of life a little bit. Whoever has been uploading her old content, keep it up. It’s really nice to see and still very educational.

Alex Taylor

Kyle and Levi requested a while back to refrain from medical advice.

MECFS! Both a result of getting Covid and having it turn into Long Covid. 💙

Part of me wishes she knew how much we care, the other part is afraid of it over stimulating her and setting her back. Glad she has people who love her so much helping her, will just have to hope you understand how much we are grateful that you guys are there.

Nigel D Perels

Dianna, I think of you all the time. Breaks my heart that you are ill and stuck in that bed, but, I do believe you will recover, however slowly it may happen. You will get your life back... and we'll all be here when you do. I'm so glad you have an excellent support structure from your husband, family, friends, caregivers and medical professionals. When I'm really ill, I image that with every exhale I make, that all of the sickness leaves my body, and with every inhale every cell in my body is healing. As you well know, our minds are remarkable things, and capable of much more than most people give them credit for. When you're so ill that you can't do anything, literally, continuing to image all of the bad leaving your body with each exhale, and each inhale making you stronger and healthier, and requires almost no energy at all to do. Never give up. Remind yourself every day that you WILL be ok. You WILL get your life back. Know that with every fiber of your being. In the mean time, I will, as I'm sure others will too, continue to think of you, sending you our positive thoughts for healing. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cat Gray from ShaneCat Studio

This is so distressing and saddening. After 14 months of ME/CFS (long covid) I'm seeing some light. Mine was never this severe and yet it upended my life. I'm in tears for Dianna; thank you and everyone who is helping her.

Harry Fleishman

Thank you for the update. I keep Diana in my thoughts and hope for a major turn around.

John DeJarnatt

our thoughts are with all of you, I can't imagine what you are all going thru. I look forward to Dianna recovering, and again shining bright in our Universe. She is blessed to have the wonderful support group she has, and in my book, you are all superstars! I know its hard (still can't imagine). Try to keep a positive outlook, and with luck, and determination, she will once again continue to educate us all to the wonders of the scientific world.

Tim Parshall

This continuous agony and worry is what my wife and I experienced most of the two years she was in the thick of her long haul. Her symptoms were a seemingly-random laundry list, but didn't cross over to the ME/CFS realm. Hang in there, Dianna, this is going to suck for a long while yet, but there will be a time in your future that this is just a bad memory.

zak t

So thankful for good people watching over her. Think of her often.

Oh sweet Dianna, sending much love to you.

Please consider tocotrienols? It's a vitamin E variant that is supposed to help with mitochondrial function. I don't sell anything. I take them cause I'm getting old and want more energy. https://chat.openai.com/share/3702b207-2b12-44c5-b538-ad669ef50f19

Stay strong, all of you.

Quasijoe

Can she be wheeled outside or is it too bright? As a scientist, she would love the data behind near infrared light and healing at a mitochondrial level. Check out MedCram and Light as Medicine. Quadruple Board certified doctor gives some great data. Hoping she improves every day. I can’t even imagine her life right now.

It may seem quiet where you are Dianna, but listen close: That roar is all of us cheering for you.

dino@deanlm.com

No. I paid to be a supporter of Dianna and I'll take your suggestion the day you 1) pay my subscription and 2) learn how to spell her name.

STFU FFS (Martín)

I was sick for a week recently and I felt pretty sorry for myself. I can't even imagine what you all are going through. Looking forward to hearing better news.

Matthew Vega

It literally does not say that. It does say that there are no studies of ivermectin's efficacy on long covid but that's similarly false. There's ample evidence out there but they wrap it in innuendo and equivocation so they can fool the scientific dupes into believing the only cure comes from Big Pharma. https://www.hematologyadvisor.com/general-medicine/early-outpatient-treatment-with-metformin-reduces-risk-for-long-covid/

STFU FFS (Martín)

Dianna, you are well loved, well prayed for, and cherished by all. I'm so sorry you and your loved ones are going through this, but you will prevail. Patience. Humility. Gratitude. Hope.

Deborah Bertrand

This breaks my heart to see her in this condition. I can only imagine how rough it is on the people closest to her. She was always so full of energy and positivity. To see it stifled this way is very saddening. Sincere hopes and prayers things will start improving soon and quickly! Much love Dianna. Stay strong.

John Casella

Thoughts and prayers with you guys, keep on keeping on 💪🏼 you’ve got this Diana!

Aaron Thomson

The article clearly states that every single serious study has shown zero effect of ivermectin. It even links to another article, which states that those dutch doctors prescribing ivermectin have been fined for the off-label use of the drug which potentially harmed hundreds of patients. https://nltimes.nl/2022/10/17/sixteen-doctors-fined-prescribing-ivemectin-hydroxychloroquine-treat-covid

C.E.

Caregivers need care, also. Don't forget to get someone to fill in while you take a break for a day or two. You'll be better able to look after Dianna, as well as protecting your own health.

RichardG

Did you read the article you linked to? This article says the opposite of what you claim it says. It says that treating Covid 19 and long-covid with ivermectin doesn't work and has been scientifically disproven. From the article: "It has been convincingly proven that Ivermectin does nothing against acute Covid-19, Annemieke Horikx of the Medicines Information Center and pharmacists organization KNMP told the podcast makers. “Neat studies have been done, that is to say: double-blind with a control group, which have shown that it really does not work.” According to Horikx, there are no known studies into Ivermectin’s effect on Long Covid. But she called it far-fetched that the drug would work for long-term symptoms after Covid-19."

Julie Sweetin

Thank you for the update. It can be heartbreaking to read this but it can’t compare to what you are all going through. Hope you can take care of yourself as well, and sending warm wishes for any improvement ♥️

I suffer from severe chronic pain that is disabling, however not nearly as disabling as Dianna's condition; though I can relate and have great empathy for her situation! It is heart wrenching to see her go through what she is going through. I can only say it takes a strong soul like her to go through it all. I pray for her recovery.

Scott Reynolds

I am so sorry you are going through this. Wishing you recovery.

Jake Beckman

Thank you for sharing the updates. So sorry she is so ill. Sending love and well wishes.

Jason Boyd

Thinking of her and wishing her to recover soon.

Kaveh

Please consider limiting your comments to thoughtful support for Diana, rather than medical suggestions. Thank you.

Logan Press

This is one of the saddest things from the pandemic to see someone as vibrant and curious as Dianna laid so low by this disease. 💕

Mike Koss

Hope Dianna knows the love that is there for her. Look after her and yourselves guys. Love from Ireland

Micheal O'Flaherty

Thank you for the update. Wishing Dianna and everyone on the team strength and healing.

Michael Lin

Sending ♥️🫂 to Dianna's caretakers especially but wish it could be, like, a hot meal and a nap and some answers.

Tamara

I've never worried as much for someone I've never met, as much as I do for Dianna. I think partially because I have my own medical issues that keep me bedridden with pain, so in a tiny way I can understand what she's going through(not nearly to her degree though... All the things I depend on to help get through the day, she has to avoid). The lack of so much input just terrifies me, and I wish I could offer help or knew what to say. I'm really sorry she is going through this and very much hope she makes a recovery, or at least gets to the point she can entertain her own mind with creativity and science, without making things worse. Take care.

Steve Victory

Thanks for letting us know. So sorry to hear this. Good luck.

In the Netherlands, doctors are finding success treating long covid with ivermectin. It's not a pipe dream and if it helps why not try it? https://nltimes.nl/2023/07/11/dutch-doctors-prescribing-controversial-scabies-medicine-long-covid-patients

Thank you for the update. Your description of the situation gave me a bit of a reality check. I hear about research related to MCAS and the MC/ thing (forgive my poor memory of the acronym). Is she involved in any programs? If so, I’d like to follow those programs.

quietssstorm

I hope the relative time moves at a different pace for her. I watch your videos with my kids. You bring great ideas to them. You bring great ideas to me. Thank you.
