Thank you! Yes they are, at least in part. They consume dead workers as part of the symbiotic relationship. They have a photosynthesis array on their top, it’s possibly that the suit provides UV light inside the suit. It’s a combination of the two.

2025-12-12 18:32:51 +0000 UTCThis is a really interesting take on the idea of a Sapient plant species, though I suppose it make sense giving that a lot of plant species can communicate with each other in a similar fashion. I have to wonder, since it's mentioned that the core acts like a stomach in addition to it's other functions, is the Gord a carnivorous plant species? Or did they evolve from one? I don't think they photosynthesize due to their suits so do they power themselves like a pitcher plant? Full of dead things that decay within them and provide nutrients that they absorb?
