Hey guys! I hope you’re having a great weekend! I’ve been sweltering in this (10–20 degrees hotter than normal) heatwave here in the Pacific Northwest. We live in the country with minimal air conditioning, so by late afternoon, it’s so hot you can barely think straight. 😳 I’ve lived in some hot places, but the humidity and intensity has taken me by surprise. It’s been pretty miserable, but I’ve been pushing through the final rewrites and… I FINALLY FINISHED (rewrites, that is)!

I made a bunch of changes to the last few chapters, adding a couple thousand words to flesh out the scenes. I’m very happy with how they turned out! I’ve been working on rewrites chapter by chapter for months, so at this point, I have no idea what the story looks like as a whole. I’m now going back to the very beginning and, based on the changes I made throughout, am making final adjustments before sending to my editor. The book is around 132/133k words at the moment. Bitter Secrets is 135k words, so they’re around the same size.

I just started my final read through and will be sending the chapters I’ve finished to my editor so she can get started tomorrow (the 15th). My aim is to finish the final read through by the end of the week. I’ll let you all know when the whole thing has been sent off and will be posting separately for the Super Patrons who will be getting the raw draft! My editor is fitting me in between other projects and based on the length of the novel, her estimated return date is late August. That can always change, though, so I'll keep you all updated!
