EZAnime Poll - June 2017 (Sports Theme)

I love Slam Dunk, but the anime really falls short of the manga. While Ippo isn't perfect either, the anime is super exciting and paced well enough.

this is a great idea! as much as i want hajime no ippo to win this round, this would only improve how everyone feels about the winner of the polls.

This is just an idea but what if there was a second round for every EZAnime poll. Like the 2 most voted will go face to face a week after for a final vote. That way, the final winner would have more than 50%+ mental support from the interested patrons instead of the technical minority that we normally get. Also, maybe if this second round only happens when none of the options reaches 50% during the first round, that would makes things better? Again, it's just an idea. Can't wait for the next episode, guys! :)

Morikawa is an abosolute genius to bring the pathos of anime to the training world of sports. Ippo brings back nostalgia with such force it feels like a liver blow followed up by an upper cut to the chin. I can see how a manga focused around the sport of boxing can turn people away, but this is an anime worth the effort and pain of over 1000 issues(in the manga). Morikawa creates great tension, empathy and accomplishment with his main characters. From mundane quarrels to full on grudge matches Ippo's characters have a wide spectrum of life skills (and lack of them too) that spur on competition between friends and also rivals. Such a great pick Ben and Brad, keep that Dempsey Roll moving and keep slamming great anime into my skull!!!

This is a good comment, but I don't think it's taking in a broad perspective. Whatever we put in the poll or even if we were to just outright choose, there would be many disappointed people. It's the nature of a monthly show. Many patrons have said they had never heard of JoJo or Konosuba before we covered them. Others who are obviously more well versed feel like we're covering well trodden ground. Whichever side we cater to, we're leaving plenty of others out. I think everything you're saying is accurate, but there is no obvious fix. We'll keep trying new things, but I also understand if the show is not for you because it isn't exploring certain territory. I don't think we're at a point where we can cover anime more substantially than what we're doing right now. Maybe in the future, though.

Easy Allies

Too many episodes of Ippo to watch to get a good enough view of the story. I say Haikyuu because of the shorter length of the series so far. Both are amazing in their own rights.

Hajime no Ippo and Haikyuu are the best sports anime so it's only right that they lead the polls. A recommendation for something more special, but nonetheless great, would be Chihayafuru. Amazing series

Hajime no Ippo deserves to win, no question. I do wish that the massively underrated One Outs would make its way into EZAnime one day however.

Hajime no Ippo, hands down. Truly One of the Greats. Please Brad&Ben, you have to get Huber on it, i can guarantee he'll adore it.

Haikyuu!! is the only one on the list that I've seen so that gets my vote. My favorite sports anime of all time, though, is Cross Game.

So sad Eye shield 21 isn't doing well :(

Aww man this is not fair. Both Eyeshield 21c and Hajime no Ippo are great. I can't believe I have to choose. There are some awesome baseball animes missing from that list though. Major and Ace of Diamonds comes to mind.

I've just gotta say "Thanks guys!" I stopped watching anime years ago (early 2000's) and I'm loving the EZAnime show because it's gives me an excuse check out new anime and with so much it's hard to find something I like with so much choice.

I vote for Haikyuu, but I want Huber to watch it first.

Man eyeshield is so good having one of the best sportmanga characters in all the ones I've read(Hiruma) but the anime is actually awful(poor animation mostly not doing Murata's art justice like the OnePunchman anime did).

Time for Kuroku no Basuke to get a shot for EZAnime!
