Is It Summer Yet?

This is just how I'm coping at the moment. The heat has gone out of the building for the last 4 days, and it's been FREEZING in my apartment. I just wish it was summer again. Winter sucks, and those who like it are terrible people.

Grrr

While working on that last roundhouse kick image, I came upon some statues of Thai demons. 

I've fallen in love with how their brows furrow and face twists with anger. I've decided i need to incorporate this language into my own drawing!

I've been watching a lot of martial arts competitions these days, and it's always fun to me how much you can glean from a fighter just by watching them do the most common technique. Muay Thai in particular has a very specific way they throw kicks and I find it to look so pretty. Today I tried to capture the Muay Thai roundhouse kick.

I was watching an episode of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure that had a shot where a character was viewed partially through a sort of x-ray vision to show where they were strong/weak. I thought it was a cool composition and it inspired me to draw this!
